My daughters cat has a problem with the litter box. He uses it,but then steps outside and acts like he is covering it. I thought it would outgrow it or learn from our older cat. It acts normal in every other way. could it have a mental health issue?

I adopted a abandoned cat that showed up at my door. It has really long white fur....but it is getting large, tangled mats of fur on its hips. I have tried a cat comb and a dog brush..neither work. I can't cut the mats out because its too big of an area. Does anyone know how to help Fluffy the Kitty?

Looking at the Cat section of Yahoo answers I have found a large portion of people who hold the stance that a cat should be confined to the indoors. And not only do they think this, but they berate/belittle people who have indoor/outdoor cats or stricktly outdoor cats. It seems a very "holier than thou" attitude to me and I want to know how many people agree with them (or not) and WHY you agree or disagree.

I am very interested to see what cat owners think and more importantly WHY they think that way

We recently accepted an adult cat to our home. We keep the cat outside, but give her access to our heated garage. The cat is always on the car, scratching the hood and roof. Is there a way to keep it off the car?

My cat received an injection in her right hind leg ysterday. She is now walking with a limp and seems to be walking on her hunch instead of her foot. It apears to mimic foot drop in a human. I haven't returned to the vet yet. I need help on treatment and prognosis ASAP.

My cat has agoraphobia, which is very frustrating for me, as I have a big garden. He may have been an indoor cat I never bothered to ask at the rescue centre. Anyway, is there a cure? I've had him for a year now, and the only time he goes out the garden is when I'm also there (to protect him!) The thought off having to buy cat litter for the rest off his nine lives...hmmmm?

Kitty, a 13 year old female, spayed. There were no signs of any of this before my other cat, Bo (of 19 years ) died. Ever since her death,Kitty has been unbelievable. She wouldn't go upstairs for the longest time. That was Bo's space. Kitty will mostly be downstairs and constantly meow at 5:30 am and won't stop for hours or until someone feeds her. (She is fed twice or more daily, ) Then 15 min. later she throws it all up. We give her attention daily, she lays with us while watching tv.
Just recently she started over shooting her cat box. That's something my older cat did towards the end of her life. Any ideas?

We have about 1 week to go before the kittens arrive. I have given her a box and she is feeding well. Is there a massage you give to kittens that are not breathing? Does my cat clean her kittens poops or do I need to clean their box out? Also, how long after birth will it take for my cat to stop bleeding? (in case I need to rush her to the vet). Your help is much appreciated.

Within the last 2 weeks for some reason he picks out a piece of his cat food out of his bowl and flings it across the floor, then he chases it and pounces on it until it disappears under the closet door. Then he repeats it until he has like 10 pieces of food in the closet. Why did he start doing that all of a sudden?

I found this beautiful calico and her 4 kittens under the foundation of a house 30 mile from my home. I managed to trip cage the kittens (about 7 weeks old) and found them all wonderful homes.Mom was very friendly and easy to handle. Asked everyone in the neighborhood if anyone owned her and they all said she was a stray that showed up 3 - 4 months ago. They all fed her since she showed up, but no one wanted to take her in. She is only a young cat herself. Vet said about 11 months old. I have had her spaded and kept her. My question is, if she should get out of the house, will she run away back to her old neighborhood 30 miles away. I take her for walks around our property on a leash every morning and night because she cries to go out. She is really good on the leash. After about 1/2 hour she will lead me back to our step and into our house.

Has anyone else had this happen? Whenever I try to scoop the litter box (usually 3-4 times a day), unless I have the cats shut in the bedroom, they will pounce on the scoop, both will simultaneously sit in the box, and they will start kicking litter on to the floor and doing everything within their power to try and prevent me from cleaning the box. Do they not like clean litter boxes or something?
