she usually always purrs and comes for cuddles but she refuses to be stroked at the moment. she is eating fine and still playing with her toys. I'm reluctant to take her to the vet as I keep taking them in and when they are poorly or hurt the vet just says to give it a couple of days and they'll be fine, which they usually are. but I'm still worried

Why do all the cats in neighborhood choose to hang out at my house? Do my cats invite them over? It looks like one of those multi cat kitty litter commercials over her. They're not strays, they all go home eventually but it's kinda weird.

i know that she is still a kitten, but she is so bad and she does not seem to be learning. she is always tearing stuff up. she bites me all the time and even makes me bleed on a daily basis. she is not mean i think that she just does not get it. i have a vet appt for shots in about a month. can i ask for a sedative or something to calm her or will the vet think that i am nuts? do they make anything for hyperactive kitties?

My kitty cat is retarded! She is constantly chewing on pieces of plastic, netting, paper, anything she can find! I try to keep stuff away from her that she might eat, but she keeps barfing all over my carpet every day and when I go to clean it up I always see bits of non-food objects in it....how can I get her to stop!?!? She is well fed, so it's not like she's hungry.

Family pet taken to vet hospital after suffering smoke inhalation and minor burns. Owner is blind and on limited income and had no Rider on insurance for the pet. Costs may run upwards of $1000.00. Local organizations require the owner to abandon the pet before any help can be given and they will not be allowed to adopt her back. The pet has not been abused, neglected or abandoned by the owner, just a tragic accidental fire caused by a clothes dryer. Does anyone know of an organization who can help with the medical bills for the cat?

I saw it on good morning america a few years ago. It was new to the united states and costs around $200.00. It's not a bangal or an ocelot. something different.

Adult male cat was recently neutered (2 days) & ripped out a couple nails- vet said he was aggitated & scared.
First, will they grow back? Also, if the animal is hallucinating from extra anasthesia, will this wear off soon? Is everything safe & will it wear off soon? How do I check for urinary infection? I'd rather be safe, so I'm considering another vet at least for now. Please help!

My boyfriend and I just recently got a calico kitten. I have had 6 cats in my life, all of them since they were kittens, but this calico kitten is mean. She seems to think that anytime you move your hand you are going to get her and she attacks you and doesn't stop until she is asleep. We found her in the engine of a car in a parking lot. Could the way she acts be because of her being that particular breed, or could the people that had her before treated her that badly? I love her to death, but we end up having scratches and bite marks all over us from her. What could we do?

This cat owner has a back garden three houses away from mine. His cat invariably calls into my garden in preference to other more close gardens to leave his stools. I have put up a plastic chicken wire one meter high atop of the dividing wall. After a month, the same cat tried to come into my garden again but apparently did not succeed to overcome the obstacle which it damaged however. Why does it persist to use my garden in preference to other gardens as his place where to leave his stools. A bit curious!

I have had 2 black cats in my life and both have died young, terrable deaths. Spikey Mudd Paws was poisoned by a cat hating neigbor and died He was only 4 years old. Bagherra was torn apart by coyotes. She was only 7. All my cats have been both indoor/outdoor cats, but that has now changed. So I think that may have led to their early deaths. We have an 8year old tabby cat that is in/out still, and the 5yr old siamese cat is indoor only. I want another black cat so bad, but don't want it to die a terrable death like my other 2 did.

I have 2 cats who are not declawed, the building i live in is giving me trouble about this, so i have decided to move. However every apartment building in my town is making this a requirement. If my cats were kittens, then i would have them declawed, however they are 4 year and 10 years old so i know that it is not a good idea to have them declawed. The managers that i have talked to don't care that its not safe and i even offered to get soft claws for my cats, is there anyway i can fight this rule?

About a year ago my kitten at the time fell about 7 feet. She didnt land on her feet. I cant remember how she landed but after she fell she spun around in a circle on her side and started twiching. Then she just layed in the same spot for an hour and I knew something was wrong. I took her to the vet and he said she didnt have any broken bones and didn't appear to be in pain. Basically she was paralysed for about a month. I had to hand feed her, give her shots, and give her medicine. Soon she was able to walk again and now she seems alright. She just walks funny like crooked and sometimes she falls over. It seems to be one side of her body that doesnt function right at times. She seems to do good for a while. But when she falls over and hits her head on something it seems like it makes her act funny again. I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of something like this and what it could be? Thanks!

I don't think it's a cold! It's just the sneezing! No eye or nose discharge! Could it be because of the anesthesia??? And she eats fine!!

I will be getting a cat from our local shelter in a few months, and it will be an inside cat. Is it difficult to keep a cat inside all the time? I dont want the cat outside for safety reasons. He or she will be fixed. Is it better to get a kitten vs a older cat as far as keeping them inside? Any tips or info would be great. I also have a toddler who I have to make sure doesnt leave the door open:)

They could care less about the tree ... the ornaments are fun for them so we keep the breakable ones near the top. What they really like is the water. We have tried assorted deterrents -- aluminum foil around the stand, tape with the sticky side up, etc. Is there something to put in the water that the cats will hate, but won't make them (or the tree) sick?

I have a 5 year old female cat but I plan to get a new kitten. How do cats usually react to a new addition? And would there be a difference to her getting along better with another female or a male kitten?
