Cats - December 2006

I have a one-year-old cat whom I utterly adore. I've had him since he was a kitten. Just wondering...what does it mean when he butts heads with me? When he's walking by or laying on the sofa and I lean down to him to kiss him, he always pushes his little head into my nose or something. Anyone know?

I have been feeding feral cats (3) a momma and 2 kittens.
They depend on me to feed them, in fact, they are waiting
for me to get home from work everyday. I cannot catch
the momma cat but the 2 kittens I can sort of touch.

So I'm moving to a new apartment in a couple of months and
I am really worried about them. Should I try to catch them and take them with me? How can I catch the momma cat? How can I get them to stay at my new apartment?

I can't leave them - they depend on me for food.

Cats are so territorial, they'll probably be freaking out with all the strange scents and loud sounds... we're keeping the re-model area sealed off but it will be five weeks of construction. Thanks for any insights!

3 of those Nature's Miracle bottles were labeled "Just for Cats".
I can still smell that pungent stench on my couches, WHAT CAN I DO?
I have to get this smell out of my couch, and even after drenching the spots in Nature's Miracle (which seems to be the ultimate cleaner) the smell remains!
I have to get this smell out of there!!!

WARNING, this is GROSS !
I just noticed it 10 minutes ago.....it was coming out her butt. It wasn't all that big...looked more like a maget so, I wiped it away and killed it (with a tissue of course). She is a very clean cat and she did have a few fleas on herself so I would say it is from fleas. Her diet is the same food and she is strictly a indoor cat....because she is a "flame point and has light eyes" she can not be in the sun...but anyways, the over the counter de-wormer should work maybe ???? Everyone has given some ggod advice thus far but needed to add a bit more info...oh yeah, one more thing...she recently had an issue with a "broken heart" after we lost her brother" we got her a new kitty to have as company....should I treat that cat as well ?????

My cat has been exibiting some odd behavior... He is a little less than a year old.

About a week ago he starting licking the tile flooring in my house... he had never done this before. I cleaned the spot several times and he is still doing it. His eating has slowed over the past week as well, and now he wont even drink milk unless I basically force feed him by putting milk on his lips and have him lick it off.

He has also started urinating in the bathtub...

All of this in the past week, he has lost a bit of his body weight as well, although he was never a large cat to begin with.

My wife and I are expecting a child soon, and we really can not afford a hefty vet bill, if he is 'too' sick we will honestly just have to give him up unfortunatly.

Any ideas as to what is wrong?

I have a cat and she's pregnant. Is there some kind of medicine or pills that i can give it so it loses her babies? I dont want it to have kittens because of the overpopulation of cats and i also don't want my cat to suffer any pain? And is it also legal to do this?

it is about a year or so old, has been spayed and has been an outdoor cat to a neighbor, she is looking to find it a new owner as she is having issues with neighbors allegies- would love to know what I would be in for if I try to make this cat an indoor only cat.

Yesterday I put my 5 yr old cat Teddy to sleep. He had severe emotional disturbances for the past 3 years (biting, scratching, marking EVERYTHING) and I put up with it because sometimes he could be affectionate. Since Thanksgiving, he's had 2 (supposed) bladder infections in a row (neither antibiotic worked) and he was horribly constipated. He also dropped an entire pound of body weight for no reason (according to his charts from his last checkup). The vet said it might be bladder stones, but it also might be cancer. He was peeing blood yesterday morning all over my bathroom and I just couldn't see putting him through so much surgery and suffering when I knew he had so many mental health issues already. I just feel so guilty. One woman in the lobby even called me the Grinch who stole my cat's christmas. Was what I did really that awful??? I can't stop crying about it.

She has been diagnosed with enlarged kidneys resulting in kidney failure. She will inevitably die but does anyone know any good remedies for prolonging and improving her quality of life. At present she is at the vets on a drip and I have to call to see what is what in the morning. Sorry to put this on you folks but needed to share it with someone. Can anyone help?

I need a good HOME REMEDY 2 KILL MICE & repell others from entering my apartment. I have a cat, so it has to be natural to not harm her & I cant afford anything you get in the store like any kind of traps.

I know quite a bit about the feline species. However, I have never actually travelled a long distance with a cat--only dogs.

I have taken him on short rides here and there in the van, and he seems to really enjoy himself. He isn't scared at all. He is 6 months. This ride home for the holiday is a 4 hour drive.

I was thinking about not giving him any food or water after a certain time so he wouldnt "go" in the car.

Any tips?

My cat is obsessed with the Christmas tree, and when he goes up there he knocks a bunch of ornaments down. I spray him in the face with water when he does it and he goes away, but he just keeps coming back. We tried putting foil around the tree because cats don't like stepping on it, but he doesn't even care. What are some other remedies I can try to keep him off of it?
