I would not suggest bathing cats this young. When I got my kittens, they had fleas (they were strays, given to us, long story) and we had to bathe them. We used Dawn dish soap b/c it kills fleas and it was not safe to use flea stuff on them b/c they were so young. Anyway, they were not happy and were wary about us touching them for a while after. But I would use those cat bathing wipes, they are about 3 or 4 dollars at Wal-Mart, Target, I think even grocery stores have them. They clean the cat when necessary, and the cats don't mind them nearly as much. My kittens did prefer when I warmed them up in the microwave before using (instructions on the package).

Cats generally don't require much bathing, if she has or had fleas it is important to give her a bath to remove the flea dirt (actually flea poop) as well as any remaining eggs. It is safe to bathe a cat that young as long as they are kept warm and you get them dried off quickly (wet cats lose alot of body heat and kittens are more vulnerable). Make sure you don't get soap in her eyes. A small amount of palmolive or kitten shampoo will be fine, but do not use an adult pet flea shampoo! Make sure any pet shampoo is labeled for use in kittens.

There is no reason to bathe them. It won't hurt them if you do, as long as you keep them in a warm place and dry them well with towels afterwards, but cats clean themselves. Plus it is very unpleasant to them to bathe them, and you'll soon find out that they can make it umpleasant for you too. They only need bathing if there is a medical reason, or if tehy are really dirty from falling in a dirty place.
Wiping them with a wet cloth is a better option.

as long as the shampoo you use says safe for use on kittens 8 weeks and older. 8 weeks is usually the age when puppies/kittens can start using things like Frontline or shampoos, but read the label, and if you are going to use any flea medicine bathe them first and wait 2 days before putting on the flea medicine. good luck and Happy holidays

yes they can be bathed but you must use shampoo made for cats only. after bathing ensure you towel dry them and then keep them warm eg let them sit in front of the fire or heater as they need to keep their body heat up at that age. remember to groom them after the bath as this helps to reafirm the bond between you both. its best to introduce them to water while they are young to prevent them clawing and scratching you when they are older and perhaps need a medicated wash for fleas etc.

I wouldn't unless they've fallen into a mud puddle of a pile of poo...they shouldn't really need a bath. If they ARE desperately in need of a bath then you can but make sure you use a gentle cat shampoo and make sure you keep them really warm through the entire process...it's a chilly time of year to be giving little kitties baths.

I used to wash my kitten and it was not a good experience for me or the cat. Do you have to wash them? I would just wipe them with a damp cloth and not put them right in the water. A small cat can create a lot of mess with any amount of water. and tend to run and hide in the awkwardness of places.

Yes you can bathe cats of any age, despite what some unknowledegable people might say, however unless they are completely disgusting they don't really need to be bathed. They will take care of that on their own, unlike dogs. GOOD LUCK

not a good idea. they hate being bathed and you may terrify them. why would you want to anyway? if they smell then its because of their surroundings because cats dont smell. use dry foam shampoo or powder shampoo or a pet deodorant
