My cat has been exibiting some odd behavior... He is a little less than a year old.
About a week ago he starting licking the tile flooring in my house... he had never done this before. I cleaned the spot several times and he is still doing it. His eating has slowed over the past week as well, and now he wont even drink milk unless I basically force feed him by putting milk on his lips and have him lick it off.
He has also started urinating in the bathtub...
All of this in the past week, he has lost a bit of his body weight as well, although he was never a large cat to begin with.
My wife and I are expecting a child soon, and we really can not afford a hefty vet bill, if he is 'too' sick we will honestly just have to give him up unfortunatly.
Any ideas as to what is wrong?

We had to put the cat to sleep today... unfortunatly he was much sicker than he appeared.
Once the doctor started talking about blood transfusions and vet bills more than we owe on our car, we knew.
He was a very good cat, sweet, mellow, and good tempered.

I'm not sure. This may be serious.Call the vet and ask for their advice and tell your cat's symptoms. If you cannot pay vet bills, you may need to put the cat down HUMANLY.

It certainly sounds like he needs to be checked out. Take him to the vet, just about any ailment is cheaper if it's treated early. The initial visit shouldn't cost too much, and any good vet will work with you if it's in the best interests of the animal -- payment plans and the like.
If you find that whatever's wrong really is too expensive to handle, try asking your local no-kill shelter for help. They really, truly, care about animals and are likely to help you with vet costs. Some of them will even handle all the vet costs through a "guardian angel" program funded by community donations.
Good luck. Take the little guy to the vet right away -- waiting costs more money in the long run, and could even cost his life.

Your cat is obviously ill. Cats communicate when something is wrong with them by urinating or deficating in a strange area. Never give a cat milk. Cats are lactose intolerant and it causes them to have severe diarrhea and stomach aches just like we have when we as humans have diarrhea. The best food for cats per my vet is hard cat food and their water should be changed daily. Your cat needs to see a vet soon. If you cannot afford a vet then you need to take him to an SPCA or a Cat Shelter, or a friend who loves cats and knows how to care for them.

A cat not eating could be a lot of things this does not sound to serious though the way it sounds it sounds like there maybe stomach problems he could have worms what kind cannot say until vet visit.Check the cats stools and see if there are any white long worms they look like maggots,if this is the case it has tapeworms.which is pretty easy to treat. If this is not the case then it could be heart worms.Like I say it is hard to tell what it is without taking it to the vet.Try checking its temperature, and what about vomiting or diarrhea?

First off, your cat is too old for milk. He needs plenty of fresh water daily. As far as the tub goes, I'm guessin you do the same when in the shower. Clean the tub and close the door. Maker sure his box is clean. Even if you have the scoop litter, you still need to clean the box from time to time.

Try giving him water. They shouldn't have milk unless it is the specially formulated type for cats. I hope that you are able to take him to the vets asap, (before Christmas holidays) as it sounds as if you have a sick moggy. Hope for both of you he gets the treatment he needs.
Sounds like he is dehydrated, which of course is dangerous.

She is in heat. Set up a vet appointment to have her spayed. She will also start peeing on things to attract mates and mark. Males spray, females urinate on blankets and things and roll around and leave discharge spots everywhere and BOTH are hell to deal with. Spay her for your own peace of mind and her own health, because it only gets worse! (Think crying all night long and keeping you awake all night every night, and the rolling around and heat behaviors really do start to become gross, I have to admit.) Also, please keep her strictly indoors always (not just when she's in heat) for her own safety, health and well-being.

The worst food for cats is kibble! period cats are and have always been 'obligate carnivores'..if your vet tells u kibble if fine, for them RUN!!!!!!!!DO SOME RESEARCH AND SEE WHAT IS BIOLOGICALLY APPROPRIATE
FOR YOUR CAT TO EAT ! KIBBLE IS NOT IT EVER! LOOK AT THIER TEETH ..THIS IS A HUGE CLUE AS TO HOW ANS WHAT THEY SHOULD EAT !

If your cat has lost weight and is urinating in the bathtub, I would strongly recommend that you seek medical attention for him. I would also recommend that you not continue to give him milk as it is not good for him, water is better. Please seek veterinary attention for your pet. Good Luck.

Sounds to me like he is developing hyperthyroidism. Take him to the vet and have his blood tested. If that is the case, certain medications will help him.
