Every time I walk out the front door with my purse and car keys she attacks my feet...like she knows I'm leaving. She only does this to me though, not my boyfriend. Any suggestions why she does it?

First of all, my husband, myself, and our 18 month old daughter live in an apartment. Our daughter loves cats and is actually really sweet and gentle with them, so we would really like to get a kitten. And we would like it to be an indoor cat.

How do you litterbox train a kitten?
About how much do you pay a week for cat food and litter for one cat?
I am mildly allergic to cats. But usually only have problems in homes with multiple cats and if I touch my eyes. My friend washes her cats. Anyone else do this?
What age is a good age to get a kitten?
Do I have to get shots for an indoor cat? Cost?
Anything else I should know about owning a kitten/cat?
We have no other pets, and its been a long time since I have had one myself. I know I could just look this stuff up, but I prefer to get real-life experiences from people. Thanks so much!!!

My wife and I have a 6 month old Tabby cat, and she is adoreable, but she can be very aggressive. Sometimes she'll just bite and scratch us really hard and when we raise our voices or try to let her know that its wrong to bite and scratch, she gets even more angry! Is this just a stage, or do time-outs and punishments help.
Also, she is going to get fixed sometime this month, so I don't know if that will change anything or not. Thanks for the help!

Is it better to adopt and love a stray cat, give it food and water, and a loving home inside, or take it to a shelter where they are having to put them to sleep on a regular basis. Too many cats and kittens are constantly being put to sleep because people cannot afford food, vaccinations and the testing that goes along with shots. And that's after the cost of neutering. And add in vet care when they become sick. So should they be given the chance of a decent life or killed?

*SECRET DIARY OF A CAT
DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from shredding on the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant and cough it up on the carpeting.

DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair... must try this on their bed (again).

DAY 762 - Slept all day so that I could annoy my captors with sleep depriving, incessant pleas for food at ungodly hours of the night.

DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in
attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was ...Hmmm. Not working according to plan...

DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid. My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth and the tiny bit of flesh under my claws.

DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant. He has mastered their frightful tongue (something akin to mole speak) and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured.

But I can wait; it is only a matter of time....

I have 4 other cats and the 3 year old was the youngest. We took in a stray male kitten about 3 weeks ago. I have done the whole separating thing and was slowly bringing him into the house to interact with the others. My 3 year old, who is sweet and timid usually, has turned into this snarling, little beast when she sees him and attacks him. He is now afraid to leave the upstairs area where I was isolating him and she keeps finding his hiding spots and becomes really aggressive. I have squirted her with a spray bottle and continually scolded her for her behavior. I just don't know what to do. I really want to keep this little guy and I know it takes time but after 3 weeks, she can't get over it. Please, serious answers only. (Don't say, "Shoot it", etc.) Thanks.

I know you're supposed to scoop it out daily, but then how often do you empty it of cat litter and refill it with fresh litter? How often do you wash the box itself?

My cat is 7 months old now and is starting to get pudgy. I know kitten food is higher in calorie. Is it OK at 7 months old to start giving him adult cat food instead now.

My cat is a stray I took in this winter. He had a couple of spots on his gums before but nothing the vet thought was out of the ordinary. However, the other day I was checking out his teeth and noticed dark spots all over his gums. They have increased and it worries me. He is going to the vet later this week but am wondering if anyone has ever encountered this problem with their cat before. I am trying to ease my mind but will take whatever information anyone can offer. As he is a stray I don't know how old he is. We guess around three or four year old male neutered cat up to date with shots etc.

This weekend I adopted 2 adorable 8wk old kittens. I live in a studio apartment that is about to be sprayed for pests. How dangerous is this? I don't want to move them again so soon, and I don't want to have the pest from everyone elses' apartments come to my apartment if I refuse to let them spray.
