The coughing would nicely be the signal of an allergic reaction to too a lot vaccine. If the cough is going untreated, it ought to become an top respiration an infection. I advise you call the Vet and ask if there is something you could do without bringing kitty back in...even as human beings are allergic to issues, they could take Benedryl. i do not understand what over the counter medicine you should offer a cat...especially even as the cat would have shriveled a ailment even as on the Vet's place of work. in the journey that they made a mistake like that with my cat, i'd replace Vets in a heartbeat! Cats are thoroughly and entirely diverse from canines. they do no longer have an excellent variety of exact tolerance for pass-over drugs. case in aspect, giving a cat anesthesia is amazingly, very complicated on a cat, while that's quite no situation with a canines. If it were my cat, i'd be worried...eating or no longer. Coughing ought to no longer be perplexed with attempting to expel fur balls. there's a diverse huge difference. Coughing to expel fur balls should be quite remedied with fur ball expectorant. authentic coughing isn't strong.

Hi, I have grown up with cats all my life. Usuaslly when they do this they will bring up a hairball in the next few days. My cat will bring one up every 9-15 months. If he is an inside cat you will see it and it looks like a wet clump of fur. If he is inside ouside then he prolly throw it up outside and come in one day not coughing.
However if the coughing carries on for more than 4-5 days and he gats watery runny eyes with the coughing he has got cat flu and will need to be treated by a vet.
I doubt it is anything to worry about, but keep an eye on him just in case. Cat flu is common in cats and is easily treated.
hope its just a hairball

Normal? Well if it is what I'm thinking it sounds like it could be a hairball he may be trying to get up? Thats the only time it sounds like my cats could be coughing?

yes it's normal, all cats cough at some point - like us humans do! it may be a fur ball, or even just a tickle. One of my cats coughs more in spring and summer - he has hay fever! [that's true by the way]

Yes.. it is normal when(particularly when) they are trying to cough up a hair ball.. Those disgusting hairballs are always with a poor kitty.. the only way to reduce somewhat the hairballs is to daily brush the kitty

Cats do cough and sneeze from time to time, but if it's constant, get a hold of your vet. Most "kitty colds" (if that's what he has) will pass on their own, but you should let your vet know if there is excessive coughing.

My cats only "cough" when they are getting ready to vomit their food, or bring up a hairball.

If your cat coughs under other conditions, I'd see a vet.

Obviously not unless he is coughing up a hairball! If he coughs up one and is still bothered, get him to the vet asap.

Yes-they cough up hairballs from grooming themselves so much. It's perfectly normal.
