the cat might have a urinary tract infection which is an infection anywhere from the kidneys to the ureters to the bladder to the urethra. i would take the cat into the vet and see what the vet has to say about the problem.

unfortunately it sounds like she is neurotic. its a compulsion she doesn't know how to change. Get some "Nature's Miracle." It has living enzymes in it that eat the bacteria which cause the smell. It won't stop her but it will help to aleviate her huge urinating territory - kind of like painting her into a corner if you know what I mean. If she can be directed to 1-2 locations she can be eventually broke of it. It will take alot of time and TLC. Also, she may have a physical problem the vet wasn't aware of. Good luck. I know how bad it can be. One of my 4 cats had the problem and its resolved now. She needed to know she was loved and that she wasn't the leader of the pride.

If its actually urinating maybe try keeping the litter box clean or try moving it to a place where the cat likes it. cats like use the bathroom in peace so maybe a place that is a little more quiet.

Have her get her kitty tested for crystals in her urine-it's a relatively inexpensive test that the vets office can do. If might help to change her diet to-it really helped my kitty boudreaux,to change his diet to kittys with urinary tract problems. Good luck!
