i have been posting questions since last week about my kitten...she had jaundice and had to be put to sleep after only having her for 4 days...the shelter gave me a new kitten and i was really picky about this one...he is 100% healthy except for Coccidia...which the vet found yesterday on a rutin check-up...they gave me meds for him (thick yellow liquid)....im paranoid now that this is going to make him sicker even though he has none of the signs for Coccidia...should i worry or is he going to be fine....they say he's almost 4 months old now and very healthy...help

Hey everyone,
Here's the story: My 5 year old male cat used to urinate around the house to mark his territory, once we had him neutered (3 years ago) he totally stopped doing that and used his litter box only.
About 4 months ago he developed a problem with his urinary tract where it had blocked and we needed to catheterize him to remove whatever it was that had blocked his urethra, after that incidenct he hasn't stopped urinating all over the house! He also uses his litter box and so I don't know what to do to prevent him from going anywhere but his box!
He's not stressed out and his diet and activity level are all good.
How can I train him to use his box only??
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

C.B. will squat in the yard for minutes at a time without any result. She will move from one spot in the yard to the other, hoping this will help her situation. Have any of you experienced this with your cat. Is this a sign of constipation or is she having problems urinating? How have you handled this?

I recently moved into my own place and apparently the previous tenants had cats because there is a horrible urine smell coming out of the one heat vent!!! I removed the insulation that was in it (covered in urine!) I poured baking soda in it, carpet fresh, bleach and still the odor lingers!!! What can I do?! I could see if it was in the carpet but in a vent?! I NEED to get rid of this smell before winter comes because the heat will just blow that smell through out my whole house!!! Please help!!!

I hear so many examples of pets giving owners fleas or scabies on here, so I just wanted to pose a question and get a consensus on weather people think sleeping with thier pet is a good idea and if you would advise against it.

I have a pet cat! Dave is his name!
Dave is a lovely cat!
but I'm getting a bird with in the next week!
I"m not worrie to much about the bird it's a baby and will adjust fine! however the cat never had a pet bird! I really don't want to keep the pets locked up seperatly but i have not a clue of what to do how they should interact! how not to let dave feel "Unloved" if you will! and i dont want him to eat the bird!
Quaker bird is what i am getting... Great pet birds they talk and are lovealbe... I just don'ot want any hard feelings between the cat and bird!
Please any links or help would be appreachated!

Recently, my cat has been doing this lately, esp. at the bottom of the pot, when there's dirt on the ground. Why does she do it? I've put aluminum foil on top, so she won't do it again. Any alternative methods?

Star weighs 17 lbs all winter and now she is only 15 lbs. She still eats a lot and if her dish is empty she finds me to tell me about it. The only difference is that she goes outside in summer but refuses to go out all winter. However, I don't think she goes very far. It is the other cat that goes on walks with the dog and me. I'm just wondering if a drop of 2 lbs is normal for only a slight increase in movement.

When my Gran died, we all thought her cat would die of a broken heart, but he didn't, because my mum had him put down the following day. Was she wrong to do this?
