my cat had kittens and they all got old enough and got rid of all but one. so now whenever the male comes around my cat tries to attack it but she is inside and he is out so she cant get him but she still tries

OK, heres the deal.

A cat, can have up to 8 kittens, and each kitten can come from a different male cat.

Each male cat will do its best to kill the kittens that are not from its blood line.

The mother is trying to protect the kitten so the male cat doesn't kill it

Sounds like your cat is trying to protect her territory.
The male cat is an intruder!

female cats r always in heat and if ur cat aint pregnent now she prolly thinks the male cat is trying to get her pregnent when my cat wuz in heat she hissed at my male cat becuz he wuz trying 2 lget her pregnent!!!!!
