does this mean that he is going to be a large cat? or does it not even matter at all. oh, and how old will my male cat be when he finally stops growing? I have a 2 year old female who is a fair size cat already so I think she is done growing. but does his paws have any bearing about how big he will become. he is fairly big for a five month old I think. if you have any suggestions please answer. Thank You!

I have acat and it couldnt go pee its a male they had to take chrystals out of um... an are... so he can go pee now but they vet told us to but this certain brand of cat food(which is sold there) its called c/d perscription diet. It cost 40 bucks for a larger bag.And they told us he would have to be on just this food and nothing else for the rest of his life. Normally he was an inside /outside cat but now were keeping him completly indoors whicj is hard to do because he love sbeing outside. The reason were leaving him in is because the vet said he cant eat any other food. And if we let him out he'll go eat the neighbors food. I was wondering if there it was ok if he eats other foods? i was wondering if the vet said that just to makemoney or what? An y comments about this subject will help. Like if I should let him outside. Oh and I have two other cats and a dog. Is it ok if my other cats eat the food?

Factors :
- Both will be 'fixed' (so pregnancy is not an issue)
- Does males urine smell more?
- Do males spray urine more then females, for reasons like marking territory?
- Which are more affectionate?

my cat fell into my bath and screamed like i've never heard before. i rescued her and wrapped her in towels. so she comes to watch me bathe all time, and yesterday, she walked too close to shampoo bottles in the corner of the tub. she fell in, and as i tried to pull her out, she scratched me so badly!

why do they fear deep water? why do they like standing in the shower, only feeling little droplets of water on their bodies?

he has never seen another cat and is afraid of everything. my husband found a baby cat about 1 month old at his shop which they were going to kill. we decided to save him and brought him home. ever since then my cat has been growling and hissing at him. even once i walked by him and he snapped at me. he has never done anything like this b.4. we have them seperated right now b/c the cat is on medicine but we do take the baby into the other room so the older cat can see and smell him. the past 2 days he has only hissed 2 times compared to the whole time they are together and is growling alot less. what is the best way that we can itroduce them without my cat attacking the baby? and not have them spraying the house to mark their territory. any tips are welcomed i want them to have a good time together

I'll be relocating from California to Pennsylvania in 2, maybe 3 weeks. I have two cats, age 3 and 7, that I'll be taking with me when I drive cross-country to our new home.

What can I do to make the trip easier on them? Should I setup their litter box & food/water bowl in the trunk and let that be their little area of the car? (I drive a Prius, which is a hatchback, so the trunk is part of the interior of the car, not a sperated/sealed compartment). If I should put them in carriers, what would be better, seperate carriers or one big one for both of them?

Also, the older one, on trips to the vet, usually a short 15 min ride, sometimes starts panting, like a dog. Is this something I should be worried about or is it something that she will stop doing after a little while?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

is it necessary to make my indoor cats wear their collars? they NEVER go outside for any reason. I don't make my 2 year old female wear hers because she doesn't like it, plus she's scared to death of going outside anyway. but, my 5 month old male kitty has a microchip implanted in him by the SPCA, but he's one of those kittens who is curious as to what's outside of the house. right now I can't put the collar on him because his neck is to small. I was just wondering, should I make both of them wear their collars 24/7 just incase they slip out? or should I only make my kitten wear his when he gets a little bigger since he's a little sneaky. or should I just not worry about it at all? some people tell me that a microchip is enough and a collar is not needed. my female isn't microchipped, but again she doesn't care to go outside. they're both spayed/neutered if that helps any. if you have any suggestions please answer. Thanks!

I have a two year old neutered male cat. I just brought in a new male kitten, who's only 10 weeks. They chase and bat at eachother an awful lot... are they fighting?? The older never hisses or growls or makes any sounds. The younger is a bit more testy and frequently hisses and cries and makes a lot of noise. He bats at the older if he comes near him. The older frequently pounces on the younger and knaws on him a bit... but no blood has ever been drawn. When he does this, I worry that he's hurting the younger, and I separate them. But sometimes the younger will seek out the older and pounce on him!! They have very similar personalities, both playful ougoing males. I thought this would help them get along...but now I'm worried they will always be battling for dominance...

So, are they fighting rather than playing? If they're fighting, should I separate them? Currently, I leave them together during the day while I'm at work because the kitten gets lonely VERY easily...

I’ve heard this happens because the cat ends up doing it with a bunch of cats, but that does not sound here to me. Is it true that if they mate with only one cat they may have only one kitten or two but when they do it with multiple they have larger litters with all types of cat mixed?

I'm thinking of getting a cat, but I've heard that they carry lethal diseases that can affect humans especially women. Is this true for all cats? What are the diseases and how can they be prevented? I've had dogs all my life but not cats, so I have no idea about the issues that they bring. Thanks for your answers.

I work in an animal hospital, and we get lots of people bringing in strays asking if we know of anyone who could offer a good home. I just can't turn away the one brought in yesterday. It's only a week or so old, eyes still closed, and he was found abandoned by a dumpster. We're giving him kitten replacer milk, and he's quite loud and active for having such a humble start to life. I went to babynames.com but there just aren't many names with meanings like dumpster or trashy! LOL! I looked up names that meant fighter or survivor, and there weren't very many that I liked. Any suggestions for a name for this little guy?

I'm a big Disney fan, too, and I was trying to think of any Disney movies that had any stray cats or paupers in it. There's got to be some, but I can't think of any off hand. Can someone give me some ideas? A Disney name would be cool, but it doesn't have to be. I just want something original and creative. Thanks!
