when my 5 month old kitten gets a little older I'm going to buy this for his claws. it's a great alternative to use besides declawing. so please tell me if this is a good investment for my kitty. Thank You!

I used these and they worked great for three of our cats but beware. Our kitty Kelko couldn't shed some of these claws and we couldn't cut them off. His claw continued to grow and the soft claw still didn't come off. It got caught on his paw and we had to go to the vet. It cost us 500 dollars to get it removed, them to sedate him, and for the stay at the vet. He also had to walk around with this cast thingy so that we wouldn't pick on it for a week (he removed it 2 minutes after getting home...we had to take him back to the vet to get a new one on.)

We noticed that the didn't claw as much around our house, but the time spent into putting them on, it would have been just as easy to cut the claws and cheaper too. I have left over soft claws if you want them. We aren't going to ever use them again.

Well If your cat scratches your furniture they will probably work for you, if they scratch your carpet then they may be a waste of money. The claws just dull the natural claw scratch(if that makes sense) =).They come in a variety of colors including, blue, hot pink, clear, purple, green/red, and purple/white and many other colors. You can get them off of eBay for about the same or cheaper than the store, maybe about $10.99 to even $19.99.The average pricing is about $13.99 or 14.99.They come in sizes small to X large also. If you do want to start soft claws/paws then I think it's best to teach them at an earlier age. My cat started when he was 2 (in cat years) or so and hates when we put them on, but after a while he got used to it. Hope this helped!

Declawing is very cruel & inhumane, not to mention the fact that some cats start biting!! Its just not a normal thing to have done to an animal, do some research on it and check out the procedure, its just mean!

I have heard positive things about the "soft-paws", and they are under 10 bucks! The thing is, I just clip the hook of my cats nails, thats the sharpest part of their nail, and then we have a scratching post & stand, and then those card board scratchers from WAlmart to keep them content, because scratching is a natural thing with kitties...... Our cats (we have 4 indoor cats)dont touch our furniture, and we just got a new 3 piece set!!

Tried them SEVERAL times for 2 Siamese. Find them all over the floor. Was a pain in the butt to put on. Didn't last real long. Couch still dug up. Gave up. Not getting a new couch. Added 2 more Siamese to complete the destruction.

Seems to me that once their claws grow out the caps would fall off. I thought about this too but it's probably easier to just clip the claws.
Have a great day!!!

I haven't used it yet, but I'm thinking about it. Though the one cat that does scratch the bed at night has gotten better about it.

They are caps that you glue onto their nails. That will be the fun part for you, but other that that I've heard good things about them.
