I think its a male and a female because they have bonded quite well, living together inside their nest box. Although I haven't seen them mating. Kissing, yes.

and they get along very well. They do not like to be apart. If I take one of them out of site of the other, they begin to call to one another and try to fly to find their "friend." This is cute to me. I took a chance and kept them in the same cage and it has worked well, but the parakeet sometimes likes to have her "space" going back to her own cage at night.
My question is, would it be prudent at this juncture to buy another of either or both of these birds, or would three (or more) be a crowd?

i have two cockatiels. i have wrote before about them and decided to get my cockatiels wings clipped . my husband does not want to get his done until he has seen if honey does ok ,as he thinks its not right. i want to know what i can do to try and tame honey. i put my hand in her cage and she hits the bottem of the cage pacing. how can i get her out of the cage when i have her wings clipped with out hurting her (we think she is a her) and when she comes out of her cage do i try to get her to sit on my finger or do i just leave her. i have only had honey a few days i do have cheeko who lives in a cage next to honey as we did have them in a cage together but they fight. cheeko is a hard bird as soon as we put are hand in his cage he goes mad so my husband has backed off but until cheeko goes to the hand how can we let him out as how do we get him back in. i have never had birds before so all this is new to me

The question is. What are some of the potential causes? His diet has not been changed. His activity level has not changed. He is as vocal as ever. Now, here is what I am hoping is a potential problem. I neglected to give him water all day yesterday until 10:00 or so last night. I get up this morning and there is like puddles. I was thinking he may have been dehydrating and then consumed so much water, that it was going through hime quicker than usual. Comments appreciated. Please lay off the "you are a bad owner" tab, because he is more than well taken care of. He just costed me $600.50 for an illness that has still not been diagnosed. The Doctor ruled out any virus he could think of. The thing that confused him was his "white blood cell count" was @ 24,000 when he was brought in. He should be @ around 10,000-12,000 I believe he said. AFTER the antibiotics the count actually went up to over 27,000. He is stumped. Bird is 3 years old. Any help's appreciated!

Sincerely, Concerned Owner
