it doesn't seem to be injured in anyway but more like in shock. its been sitting in my lorikeet's cage whole day and not moving. (since my lorikeet doesn't really use his cage...) i'll see if it feel better tomorrow, might keep it for pet as well. =)

This is definitely NOT a lovebird. It appears to me to be one of the neophema parakeets, that is a Australian grass parakeet. The wing pattern is in line with a Rosella, but the head color, especially above the bill is troubling to me. I have to admit I am no expert on Australian parakeets, so there may be a subspecies of Rosella that does display that coloration, or it could be a that juveniles don't develop their adult colors until later.

This is definitely NOT a lovebird in any way shape or form. I'm assuming it is showing juvenile coloring so it's hard to say for 100% but I would agree with some species of Rosella or just maybe a type of Conure. I would think then the adult coloring comes in that she's a Rosella, body type is right as is what coloring is currently showing.
Best of luck!

Love birds are not native to Austrailia so definately not a love bird.
My best guess because it is so young is that it is a rossella or lorikeet, but fould this website about native Austrailian birds.
It is young and you will need to feed it by hand, I would suggest taking it to a bird breeder near you or a vet as hand rearing is time consuming and very difficult.
But what ever you choose to do good luck

It's definitely not a lovebird. It looks like a type of grass-keet (possibly a rosella or bork(sp?) parakeet. An avian vet should be able to help you out with the specifics for feeding, as well as narrow down the species. Good Luck.

I dont know how the other people think this is a love bird. THIS BIRD IS DEFINATELY NOT A LOVE BIRD. Love birds have a bigger beak and large head compared to its body!!!!!!!! From the location and the picture, it seems to be a torquoise parakeet ( a neophema parakeet ) as descrbed from the previous person. this bird is on the endangered list by the ways. Does anyone agree with me here?/

It looks like a lovebird or baby conure--is she injured? you may want to take her to a vet to be checked out- and she obviously escaped from someone so run a personal ad- unless you want to give her a good home-- I have a blue crown and they make great pets.. real loving and love to talk and mimic and by the way, put them in your will they live to be between 60-100 years old

Nope this is definitely NOT a lovebird, there is no color mutation like that in any of the species, it looks to me like some sort of parakeet like a grass one, just like someone mentioned above...here's a good website to look at and see if you can find it!

Good luck!

It is most likely a young turquoisine grass parakeet.

a grown turk has a blue face. blue wing feathers, and yellowy gold chest.

it's a beautiful baby, it sort of looks like a rosella or a kakariki
can you hand feed it? or is it eating on its own?
good luck with your baby, it should make a good pet
