I have an african sulcada tortoise, and today we got a new one that came from a rescue shelter. My original one, Rex, is quite a bit bigger than the new one, Leo. Rex has been constantly humping Leo. Leo continues to walk, s/he doesn't stop and wait. Rex will stop for a minute, and then start circling Leo and sniffing her/him. Then he'll try again to get on Leo. We don't know if Leo is a male or female, but we are pretty sure that Rex is a boy. I don't know if Rex is trying to show dominance, or is trying to mate, or anything. We've had Rex for years now, and he's been living in our backyard for maybe about three or four years now. Rex has flipped over once from being on top of Leo, and Leo has also flipped over once from trying to climb Rex's head, and Rex charging him.
Does anyone know if tortoises will still try and mate even if they're both males? How long does it take for tortoises to be accomstomed to each other and get along? Were a little nervous for daytime cause no ones home

I was hoping someone could let me know how i would be able to get or if i would even be able to get my dogs AKC/UKC registered? I got them as pups, however i never got papers on them so i have no idea how i would go about it? I know that they are both pure bred though but i have no proof of anyhting like that, or family tree? Would i be able to get them registered with any of the registries, and how would i do it?

I was hoping someone with experience in putting their dogs in weight pulling competitions could help me out in finding out more about it and the rules and regulations of the sport? If you could let me know of a site that would be great as well. Also does your dog have to be AKC to be able to compete in competitions?

We went up in the mountains in Colorado with my grandma's friends' dog. Her name was Mandy and she was a huge Newfoundland. I probably could've ridden on her. She even wore a pack and carried her treats, a bottle of water, and a portable water dish. My Grandpa carried a big blanket for us to sit on to eat lunch and cups for all us. My dad carried books and games to play up on the mountains. I carried extra jackets for all of us and my portable DVD player. My grandma's friends' carried toys for Mandy and water. My grandma carried the food and my mom walked Mandy. It was quite scenic and awesome. I just wondered if anyone else has taken a trip up mountains with a dog?

The vetenarian gave my dog a hair cut. In the beginning, I was against it, but I am thankful he did now. The doctor saw what he called body bugs under his skin! I was so afraid for him. My dog has so much hair, and the doctor hadn't noticed them. There were at least forty of them. I researched them online, but couldn't find anything about dogs and body bugs. I saw rare instances of body bugs on humans, that goes along with some syndrome. I need to know what is it, and can it get on humans. I'm really worried, because my dog is always within a close proximity with me. I pratically hug him everyday! No kissing, though! That's just nasty to me!!!!!! His treatment is under control for the next 6 months. Can humans get them? Can they crawl from under the pores? My biggest phobia is maggots, earwigs, and essentially come from under my skin. I go into convulsions seeing or thinking about ear wigs/maggots. I'm really afraid. Links please!!!

my female mollie has scales that are turning colours like yellowish, then they turn red. and she's also floating vertically (just sitting with head towards water) then when she does get a burst of energy she swims erratically and then like floats back down from the surface. i have her in a breeding net. and she seems to be gulping/gasping, but she's RIGHT near the water return from the filter. i did 40% water change and added stress coat. it's 6:14pm so everything is closed so i can't go get aquarium salt or a ammonia test kit.

I am so mad at my cat! She pee'd on my tap shoes and know they smell like crap. We sprayed a cat pee disolvent on them to get the cat pee away and we febrezed them and know they smell even worse.
Does anyone know of a way to get the smell out of my completely leather tap shoes without me having to buy a new pair? (they're $250)

oh kay see if i can explain this right... my mom stepped on my cats tail and with the other foot it went up and accidentally kicked it at the time.. the tail is not bent but has a bbump on it. their is no puss coming from the bump so my mom said it is not an absest. but could the tail be broken or jsut sprained. we have also stepped on it twice after teh accident yesterday.. hes a foot cat so were not clumsy hes just always under us. now he yowls when we touch his tail and trys to hide from us.

i have a problem with fleas ive sprayed with cem's ive bathed my cat over and over as well as moused him and sprayed with this other stuff and i brush the fleas off of him and i vacum 3 to 4 times a day but still nothing has worked i need to know if there's something i can use to keep them off me mostly because ive found them in my hair and its getting anoying please help me

My boy cat has - in his excitement to chase down a marauding bird, trespassing cat, dog walkers, or (hissss!) a scary opossum, he has forgotten that glass is vertical barrier through which he cannot pass.

The resounding "KLUNK" is sometimes quite dramatic. He wobbles, then tries to play it off nonchalantly like "Whut? Nothing to see here, move along..."

If none are, can you suggest any other nice 'shoaling effect' fish to go well in a 28L (around 6-8 gallon) square tank with a betta?

a plec, 4 cory catfish, shoal of tetra (maybe 10?) and some gouramis?

I'm not sure if this is viable, but I've just seen a 60L tank and I'm trying to price up the equipment and see what I could possibly have in it.
