HI there, I just wanted to say that I have absolutely LOVED danes for years now and I really want one to share my home with (I'd like to rescue one) So recently I've just been wondering (If you have a dane or are closed to one) What makes you like them and what makes them different from other dogs (besides size, more like temperment) I'd just like to know your opinoin, because lately I havn't really been able to describe how i feel about them, well Thank you for all the answers. :)

I have a friend who owns a couple of Great Danes. One is a harlequin named Gretchen and the other is a fawn color named Josie. They are such sweet natured dogs. They love to be petted and hugged on. Gretchin would come up to me and stick her head under my arm and Josie would try to hop up in my lap despite how big she was! They are so fun to be around as they love to play fetch and any other game you can think of. I really looked forward to my visits with them . Sadly they moved away. I miss them alot !

I myself own a few danes and love them. That is one breed I will always have around in my life. I purchased my first dane 5 years ago, and she is still a big baby. She has the best temperament, and since we had her trained at 5 months of age, she is very good whereever we go! Her temperament is of a baby, she even kisses like .. If you ever seen a baby give kisses when they first learn, they open their mouths, well With Jazzmine, she still does that, she opens her mouth and just barely touches you with her lips, she is awome. She sleeps on the bed with me. We also have 3 more danes, Each of my kids have one in their rooms. My kids are 7 and 15. They have been raised around danes the last 5 years and they love them too. It is very hard to say what one thing really makes you love danes!! There is just soo much about them, and their personalities are all so different, yet all the same.

I have a 7 month old Brindle Great Dane and I have fallen in love with the breed. They are gentle, and VERY loving animals. I can only give you information based on my experience so I hope this helps. He loves to be close to people, and is very easy to train. He loves children, and other pets as well. He can be protective when someone comes to the door, but has never shown signs of aggression. They don't require a lot of exercise. It is recommended that you feed a high quality diet to ensure proper growth and health as well. (ie, No Iams, Science Diet, etc.)
They really are such a wonderful breed.

Great Danes are awesome! My cousin has one and he is the sweetest thing ever! Great Danes have great personalities because they are so affectionate and lovable. My cousins dog will come up to them and cuddle with them, and give them hugs. It's so cute!

They are gentle giants!!!
My son has one and he is a sweetie! They are rather lazy, so they only need little exercise, and they are quite content. They also LOVE people, and make great family dogs.

I, too like them, but they do not have a very long life span. I think that would make me too sad to own one.
