The vetenarian gave my dog a hair cut. In the beginning, I was against it, but I am thankful he did now. The doctor saw what he called body bugs under his skin! I was so afraid for him. My dog has so much hair, and the doctor hadn't noticed them. There were at least forty of them. I researched them online, but couldn't find anything about dogs and body bugs. I saw rare instances of body bugs on humans, that goes along with some syndrome. I need to know what is it, and can it get on humans. I'm really worried, because my dog is always within a close proximity with me. I pratically hug him everyday! No kissing, though! That's just nasty to me!!!!!! His treatment is under control for the next 6 months. Can humans get them? Can they crawl from under the pores? My biggest phobia is maggots, earwigs, and essentially come from under my skin. I go into convulsions seeing or thinking about ear wigs/maggots. I'm really afraid. Links please!!!

I'm not sure, but it sounds like mange mites. And yes, you can get them - it's called scabies.

Call your vet and ask what the heck "body bugs" are.

There are bugs, almost maggot like that get into the skin. For the life of me, i can not remember what the fly is, but it lays eggs adn the larvae lives under the skin, using a small breathing hole in the surface of the skin to survive....the flys are called BOT flies. i have seen this a few times at work, an its nasty......hope this helps

Demodectic mange?
wool worms from matted hair?
I have never heard of 'body bugs' so I assume they go by a different name.

Please follow up with another vet! I've never heard of "body bugs", I tried to look it up but could not find anything either. Please take him to another vet to make sure you're ok and that he's not suffering. Good luck!
