yes it is a European eagle owl it is a native of England but was eradicated by the Victorians but is now here again it is only the female that has a 6 foot wing Span as in all birds of prey the female is one third larger than the male its true name is a Eurasian eagle owl as it it also found in asia and in all countries in Europe have it and it seems we are the only country that has a issue with it in England we think it takes cats and small dogs this is not so its main prey is rabbit leave it alone it does no harm and it is persecuted by many people and Animal magic is wrong the owl she refers to is African and is also called the milky owl or if you are a falconer as I am a Barbara Cartland owl as it has pink eye lids and a blue beak and it is smaller than the european as for the geat gray that is smaller and a totaly diferent owl it is not a eagle owl

Yes. The Verreux's Eagle Owl and maybe the Great Gray have a six foot wingspan or more. You should look it up on nature websites, or in owl books.

there has been one owl recorded with a 6ft wingspan and this was the Eagle Owl.

The Eagle owl is the largest breed of owl and can weigh in around 4-6kg, with its emense size this bird has no natural enermies.

It's a European Eagle Owl. There are several breeding in Uk at present. Some have escaped from would-be hunters but others are believed to have arrived naturally.

In North America:
Great Gray up to 148 cm
Snowy up to 150 cm
Great Horned up to 112 cm

170 cm = 5.6 feet. So almost.

might be an owl golden eagle(only kidding) its an eagle owl
they can have quite a large wing span.
