I have a female german shepard, she won't behave on walks and if I correct her with a choke chain or try to train her on flat collar there is just no hope. She will no get her attention fixated on anything else even despite the uncomfortableness of the choke collar being yanked. Do you think a prong collar would better help me with that? Im sorta cautcious because i dont want to use it wrng, and i heard they pop off if you yank on them too hard which wouldnt be good if your dog is trying to get another aggressive dog. Also. What size would I get her? Medium or Large?

We acquired a very cute bunny rabbit called Cutey, the previous owners thought it was a girl. Have since found out he is very much a boy and looking to rename him, even though he is very cute it's a bit of a girly name and we don't want to give him a complex!

Here's a bit about him -

He burrowed his way into our garden from next door and decided to stay. He is medium size, a kind of champagne colour velvety fur with smokey ears, feet, tail and smudge on his face. He's in love with our (bichonX) dog and runs rings around him, spraying and often trying to hump him! LOL. He likes to sit inside our back door, puts his scent on everything, including us and the dog and he just loves to lick my feet and ankles :-) He lives in our back garden and just hates being put back in his hutch at night.

Would be grateful for any help with names, also will probably get him a (spayed) female for company so appropiate duo names might be useful too.

Cheers all...................

I just bought my little puppy from a private owner. He is a male rottweiler. I found out two days later that he has roundworms. I bought an over the counter dewormer from petsmart until i can get him into the veterinarian next week. this is his last day taking the medication. but his appetite still is not improving and his poop is a clear to cloudy gel like appearance and sometimes have what looks like traces of blood. Is this normal when deworming your dog. someone please help me because this is my first puppy so i really don't know.

Okay, Im a animal lover, I love animals!!! Every time I see a dog or cat, any animal alone in the streets I start to cry or I will want to touch it, but my my mom and dad start laughing, and start repeating what I say every time I see an animal :( yesterday I was at my grandmas house and my mom and dad picked me up at night to go to a restaurant, my mom said I have a sad story to tell you, today your dad forgot to close the garage door, and a little stray dog, that lives in the neighbourhood, went inside the garage and stayed asleep under the car, and after a while he woke up and started eating from the garbage, your dad found out and started hitting the dog with a stick, and the dog left....THATS WHAT I HATE ABOUT MY MOM AND DAD THAT START TELLING SAD STORIES SO I CAN START TO CRY!, This all started when my cat escaped, now I love animals and start to cry every time I see them alone ='( Can you guys please help me =(

I have one female guppy in my one gallon tank with a hood and an undergravel filter. I do partial water changes every few days. I've had my guppy since I started the tank about 5 weeks ago. She seems to be doing great, shes very energetic. I was wondering if I should add one more fish (maybe another female guppy) to the tank to keep her company. I know guppies do better with other fish, but I also realize that I have a very small tank.

Just a question, purebreds are not any better than mutts, yet people spend hundreds even thousands of dollars on dogs you buy at a pet shop when you can get free puppies from people trying to get rid of puppies all the time, or get one at a pet shelter/ pound. It just seems silly to pay money for an animal that you can get for free. In my experience mutts have less medical problems, and tend to be smarter. What are your thoughts on why people pay for dogs, I honestly can't think of a reason.

Am I a good owner.I have a rotweiler that does nothing wrong and he has shelter and is kept in a fence. Is that cruel. All my other neighbors keep their dogs on chains. Also, my neighbors dogs keep coming to my house and attacking my Affenpinscher and my Rotweiler tried to attack them. My neighbors called the dog catcher because of it. Their dogs and cats are always over at my house. ADVICE!@! their old. Am I right or am I wrong?

My cat is overweight. I would like for him to lose at least 3-4 lbs (He weighs about 20-22 lbs/8 years old). Right now he eats about 1 1/2 cup Iams Hairball food a day. Along with that we give him about 3-5 tablespoons a day of tuna. I don't think the tuna is affecting his weight - do you?

Should we change his food; give him less?

Any suggestions at all is grealty appreciated.

I noticed a couple days ago that here was a teeny tiny speck of something white-ish on my frog's eyes. I thought that maybe something like food just went and probably landed on his eye, but now a couple days later, it has gotten bigger. He hides a lot now, a lot less than he used to. I know they're supposed to hide, but this is still unusual for him. I'm pretty sure that it is a bacterial infection, but what can I do to cure him?

I have recently invested in a 5 month old miniature colt and I know, because of his age, he will want to play and do many things to keep himself from being bored. I want to know about some games I could do to keep him out of mischief from boredom. If anyone knows of some fun games or can think up some fun(and safe) games, I'd love it. Thanks you guys.

Am i doing the right thing by thinking about getting a kitten, or should i blow the thought, as they might not get a long? I went to the r.s.p.c.a today, but most of the kitten are not any good for to be rehome with dogs, and children under the age of 5 yrs, as i have a daughter who is 2 yrs, but loves cats. Please help with any advice, and mostly people who have had or got dogs and cat together.

My husband only works 5 mins away from home and he says he will come home at lunch time to feed it and let it out for toilet. However i stil feel this is cruel am i right? what should i do. we still have a chance to tell breeder we have changed our minds but i feel mean as it was a gift ????? The dog would be left 8.30 am - 5pm and be seen for about 20 minutes at lunch time. what do you think?
