Also, my neighbors dogs keep coming to my house and attacking my Affenpinscher and my Rotweiler tried to attack them. My neighbors called the dog catcher because of it. Their dogs and cats are always over at my house. ADVICE!@! their old. Am I right or am I wrong?

i don't think your a bad owner for keeping your dog in a fence. as long as he isn't getting out and causing havoc and chaos in the neighborhood! lol..as far as your neighbors dog goes..so your neighbors dog tried attaching your pinscher and then your rottie attacked the both of them? most likely your rottie was just trying to break it up. but who knows. i would warn your neighbors, say this is my property, this is your first warning, that if i find your animals over here again i will call animal services or whoever you call in your area..if they come over again, i will personally catch them and take them to the pound and you will have to pay the money to get them out..its no joke when someone elses dog comes and attacks yours. if they can't keep their dogs and cats inside then they shouldn't have em!

Your dogs were probably attacking in self defense, so you are right. However, since they called animal control before you did, it might look like you're just trying to get off the hook.
And to address the first part (about whether or not keeping your dogs outside is cruel), it really depends on where you live and the quality of the shelter. If you live in a place where it gets extremely cold or hot, it could be construed as cruel. Just make sure they have a lot of cold water if it's hot and well-insulated shelter if it's cold, and consider bringing them in if the weather gets extreme.

It is cruel to keep a dog on a chain. You need to repair your fence so that your neighbors dogs stay out of your yard.....you also need to report your neighbors dogs when they come into your yard.
No a matter of right and wrong, it's about doing what is best for your pets to keep them safe.
Good Luck!!

If your neighbors dogs are entering your property, your neighbor should be cited by Animal Control, not you.

Your neighbors are in violation of leash laws. I would contact Animal Control and make them aware of the situation. YOUR dogs are in danger of being attacked here. Also, you have to feel for your neighbors dogs who by no fault of their own are allowed by their owners to enter your yard.

You need to get control of this situation before it becomes out of hand.

If their dogs are loose and entering your property and attacking your animals, they are violating the leash and the vicious dog laws, not you.

Make sure the animal control officer gets your side of the story. And make sure your animals are never loose off your property with the neighbors you have.

You're right. If your neighbors would keep their dogs away from your house, then your dogs wouldn't be trying to attack them. So it's their fault.

you're probably a good owner because your dog has some space 2 run around, but your neighbors are WRONG!Keeping dogs in chains,it's just not right. Here's the advice, tell your neighbors 2 walk their dogs and spend time. That way their dogs would want attention from their owners instead of attacking your dogs. Then,if theirs and your dogs are calm enough, take them on a play date,2 get acquainted with each other. That way,the dogs later on won't want to kill each other.

You are wrong, your dogs should be in the house with you and taken for walks everyday. It is cruel to make a dog live its life in the backyard. They are social animals and do not like to be alone.

In California its against the law to chain your dogs outside. Your dogs have every right to protect themselves from dogs on their property. My question to you is, if you have fences, how are they getting in?

You are right. And if your neighbors aren't controlling their pets but have the gall to try to threaten to sic animal control on you, you are more than within your rights to return the favor. In fact, you might want to consider it, since in many places there are by-laws that require owners to control their pets.
