Our new cat is about three years old and we got her yesterday from a siamese rescue center. The president of the center was telling us she has always had watery eyes and a runny nose. And she has a flea allergy. Could the symptoms be related to the allergy or any other ones we don't know about? She's a Burmese, so her face is very short and hatchet-like almost. Would her face make-up have anything to do with it?

Thanks.

My dad told me that it goes and makes a home of its own somewhere else if its mate has kittens. Since my first male cat ran away and came back once maybe to say goodbye, my dad took my new cat to get his sperms removed. Do they really run away because they have kittens?

And in your experience are they hard dogs to train?
I think it seems like a lovely dog to have because I just think they're gorgeous dogs, and I read up about them and they seem like a perfect dog..
In your own experience what were the main upsides and downsides with having them?
Thanks!!!

Oh and what are they like when they're left on their own?

Ok.
My 29 gallon tank has two clown loaches in it that will eventually outgrow the tank.
At this point, i am deciding whether to get a 58 gallon saltwater tank or a 58 gallon freshwater tank.

I really would like to try keeping saltwater fish, i would like it more than freshwater. but, if i do this, than the 29 gal tank is the permanent home for all my current fish and my growing clown loaches that will eventually have to be gotten rid of.

So.
should i keep th clown loaches and get a bigger freshwater tank or go with the really really really tempting saltwater tank?

i am ready for the challenge of saltwater tank and im aware of the difficulty of it.

I have 3 female Betta's in my tank and after a day (and some initial fighting) they seemed to get along good. One I had for 2 weeks, the others too I put in 3 days ago. Today one of the new ones had torn fins and looked really depressed. i separated all three of them immediately. I heard that if I reintroduce them to the tank after some time they might be less territorial about it. But for how long do I separate them? Also, one of them started making a bubble nest. I don't know which one it is, though. I checked and all three of them have that little white dot behind their belly. I am positive that all of them are female but how can i be really sure? Is there another way to tell (except by fin size and that white dot)?

One of my dogs accidentally bit me a few weeks ago, during a scuffle with another dog. It wasn't a really serious bite- definitely didn't require stitches and barely bled. It was, however, a bit deep. I treated it with triple anti biotic a few times but it never appeared to bad enough to seek medical attention.

There was bad bruising around it for a couple weeks afterwards. Now, the bites are pretty much healed (one was a little nip on my thumb, the other was an actual bite on my thigh). However, there are now "tough" lumps under where the wounds were- somewhat like the lumps that remain where a piercing once was. They're a little tender, but don't bother me by any means- they just feel like a bruise when I touch them firmly.

Is this normal of dog bite wounds? Like I said, they don't really bother me. I'd just like to know if I should be concerned. Neither bite ever showed any sign of infection.

With Halloween coming up this week, what should the typical owner be aware of so that their dog's health is not put in danger. Every year many dogs and cats die during the holidays do to simple mistakes.

So, tell me what YOU are most careful about during Halloween! What should others be mindful of?

As usual, I am asking that we don't give thumbs down and no reporting please. If you don't like someones answer, ignore it and keep on going to the next one. Thank You!

My black 2 year old labrador has to be left in his cage whilst i am at work as he claws at the walls eventually leaving a big hole. I really hate putting him in his cage and would like to let him out in the kitchen and dining room but he has caused so much damage in the past. He also enjoys chewing skirting boards. Any ideas to resolve this problem would be appreciated.

My dogs are covered in what I believe to be "flea dirt" but they're not scratching themselves or anything. They both get washed in a flea shampoo every 3 weeks. They dont spend too much time outside nor do they mix with other dogs. Could this still be fleas or anyone have another idea?

She is approx 14 years old. Her left hand thigh bone ball was broken when she was about 2 yrs. The vet said that cats can live with this. After some confinement she did. But now, being an old puss doesn't jump about as much. She drinks over a pint a day. Her food is moistened cat biscuits because she has no teeth.

Ok, so please don't tell me how irresponsible you think I am for letting my cat get pregnant, I wanted my cat spayed ....

But now she is in labor. We gave her a flea pill and she is ok. The vet reccommened doing this.

She is lying on a blanket in the middle of the living room, is it ok to pet her or give her some water or will that distract her ?
