I have one cat in about a 10 x 10 room that he leaves only under supervision. The room has 1 door and 1 window, along with about a 5 x 3 closet attached. In the room are also 4 fish tanks of various sizes from a 1 gallon to a 90 gallon. Recently, I noticed that I was waking up with what looked like isolated pimples on various areas of my body, and small white salt-like grains on my sheets along with what looked like gold sesame seeds. After looking online, I realized these were tapeworm eggs and flea eggs! So, in my cramped room with lots of nooks and crannies and where my cat has been to just about every square inch of it, and with fish's lives to be considered, how would you guys recommend treating the infestation? I can treat the cat, that is easy enough, but to treat the room so he doesn't get re-infested I have no idea. I've heard of bombs and foggers and sprays but I don't want to put my fish at risk. Please give me ideas!

I have recently bought myself a 3-month-old bearded dragon. This might seem like a silly question, but is it normal for him to sleep all day long? Would appreciate any other tips on caring for him.

hi for months we had fleas, we used frontline and spray from vet

nitemare but we think we got rid of adult fleas as we havent seen any for 3 weeks or more.

trouble is we are not sure whther there are still eggs in the carpets?

we cant tell!

our dog dosent itch as much now.

but how do we tell about the eggs?

how do we get rid of the eggs? cos the sprays say they kill eggs but i dont see how they do as they are cocooned?

what should we do? obvioulsy if we try to bring the eggs out in the carpet (by putting the heatig on etc) we will have to get rid of them

do we wait n see if we see them, scoop them up with the hoover after we put the heating on?

im not buying any more sprays as i spent over £30 pounds on 2 x bottles of spray from vets.

please help?

do you think it sounds like there arent any eggs (as would they not have hatched in the past 3 weeks?)

My dog is shiztu and 5 months since she was born. The problem is she barks whenever I lay in the bed or floor.
Even when she is sleeping, if I lay down in my bed, she takes up and barks at me. Why she hates I lay down?

I love them both in there own way but bareback can feel soooo gooood!!!!! I love the feeling of the horses spine under me in bareback because you can feel excactly how the horse is moving. Its not a good idea to wear jeans for this because the seam can hurt the horses back. I often wear jeans when using a saddle because the seam can feel quite nice!

feed a male beta fish goldfish? If I can, how many do I give him in one feeding? Will he beat em up first? Cause that would just be wrong!

My mouse is 2 and a half years old.
Lately I noticed that she has grown a lump on her shoulder?
The lump has a red thing on the top of it.
She has also started to lose her hair, and has a small scab on her back.
Im most worried about the lump.
Is there any way I can help my mouse WITHOUT taking it to a vet? Because we can't really afford to.
Thanks for any help.

Hey, i have a 6 month old golden retreiver who's just been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia. I got him health insurance so i assume there'd be no problems and i'm prepared to pay any ammount which will slow down his bone degeneration.
I'm just posing this question to find out if there has been anyone in similar circumstances with their dogs and if they have gotten operations and if they have been a success.
I guess this is the consequence of buying from a pet shop where i dont know anything about his families history. I love him so much and i'm going to do everything in my power to make this better and i have full confidance that everything will be ok because it's still early days.
I'd really love to hear from people who have had similar circumstances and see how they handled it.
Thanks.

We are putingt a dog door going into our unheated, uninsulated garage+ building walls and a ceiling, big enough to turn around in and tall enough for her to walk. We plan on putting a board on top of the cement so the dog is not exposed to the cold surface, and we will line it w/ straw. We were trying to figure out how to heat it. I looked into various heating elements for dog houses, light bulbs, heated pads and the like. She is still a puppy and is a chewer so I would not trust her w/ anything she could chew. My thought was this... leaving a door made of some sort of fencing/wire that will allow us to clean the house and to easily put her in. Then using one of our space heaters placing it near the door blowing in at her. She is mostly an inside dog but we can not trust her in the house yet alone while we are at work. I only work part time opposite shifts from my husband, she will only need to be in there a few hrs. Winter is coming though and I worry she will be cold. Ideas? is this

I'll make this short okay, my cat may be choking on some liquid, we were giving him some oil to help with constipation but when it hit his mouth he accidently flipped his head back, i think some of it went down his windpipe. Hes a little gurgly when breathing and hes breathing harder, no open mouth, nothing like that. Hes aware and awake. Hes a little shakey but he might just be cold.

Please do not tell me to take him to the vet, dont tell me bullshit answers, this is serious, how do i help the liquid come up

and BTW if it was serious enough to take him to the emerg, vet he would DIE BEFORE HE GOT THERE.

so dont give me this bullshit about taking hiim to the vet, now some\one pleas ehelp me!

My dog just passed away and I am already considering adopting another. I loved my dog that passed away very much, but now my other dog is lonely and I myself am missing that second set of four legs. I don't want anyone to see me adopting a new dog as disrespectful to my dog's memory.

My husband went out catching yabbies, and brought heaps home and put them in our tank with my breeding cychlids. A friend of mine told me that if any of them die in the tank they give off a deadly poison that could kill the rest of the yabbies and the fish, is this true? becuase one died this morning, and i have $5,000 worth of fish in there, the tank is 7ft x 4ft x 3ft (if that makes any difference)

All of a sudden she has began to be all mopey, and she walks really slow (she kinda looks tired or dead), ever time I let her out to go outside, she is all slow and wants to stay behind. And also she has a problem with her skin it is all black and sticky, and it smells really gross, I tried to give her a bath but it didn't work, is my dog dieing?

I've owned my dog for about 14 years and she was purchased as an adult dog, so I'm not sure of her exact age. The past couple of years she's really aged. The vet said she had bone spurs on her vertabrae, so we put her on medication and she was doing well. But May of this year she was doing really bad. I came home from out of town and she was walking weird. She was walking with her hip curled to the right. The next day she could barely walk. She kept falling down. The vet said we should probably put her down, but he said we could also put her on medication. We did so and ever since she's had good days and bad. However, she consistently falls down throughout the day and it is evident that her hips are weak. Some days her eyes are emotionless and she never wags her tail. Others, she wags her tail occassionally, but not like she used to. She also has trouble getting in and out of the doggie door and I know she can't hear or see well. She also paces around the house.

My husband thinks we should put him down as I am having a baby. I could never do that, he is like a kid to me. Please help I am willing to try anything.

will it keep them indoors? Will it stop their urge to roam around the neighborhood to look for mates?
I live in the Philippines and I have a lot of street cats (stray, mixed breed, unattractive cats). I've adopted them and have considered them my own. They're very special to me even if they're not as furry or cuddly or cute as the purebreds. They're not confined in our home though; there's a lot of openings for them to get out and roam. My worst fear is they'll get hit by cars sooner or later. (The street outside is not really a busy street, but cars do pass by sometimes.)

I have a 5 year old and 4 year old malitpoo I was wondering if they are still able to get fixed or might they be too old. My dogs are normally really good dogs and are indoor dogs they only go out when i take them on thier walks and they are not hyper but i heard that getting female dogs fixed prevents them from having ovarian cancer and in general fixed dogs live longer is this true?

my dog growls when i pet him and he's eating, i'm not gonna have this , but i want to do it the right way. He's only 6 mo. old. he's part rott. part german shepard. Do u think i could stop it by showing him i'm "alpha male" by grabbing him and telling him no when he goes to bite? I guess i'd like have my arm and hand with a bunch of towels or something. I'm guessing this wouldn't work tho because i'm sure he'd challenge me later? am i right or will this break it ?

Okay so I got my new 10 gallon today that I will keep guppies in. I put in the gravel and the water, and hooked up the filter. I don't have the heater yet, I plan to get it in a day or two. My question is, how do I know when it's okay to start adding the guppies? I've read a week somewhere, 3 days somewhere else, but I really want to know what is it that magically happens to make it suddenly okay for a fish? Is it something I can test for with my water testing kit?

my possibly pregnant guppy actually 2 out of 3 of my females are being chased by the only male in the tank very often and the females are big and sort of boxy they swim normally, they seem to be eating food but they sometimes do spit it out, they are often on the bottom of my tank resting i guess near a plant, their gravid spots are black I am almost certain they are pregnant but I have found on 1 of my females 2 red long thin things sticking out of her bum where she poohs, and 1 sticking out on my other female so i put them i breeding traps assuming birth.. What are the red things and what should i do with females.
