I'll make this short okay, my cat may be choking on some liquid, we were giving him some oil to help with constipation but when it hit his mouth he accidently flipped his head back, i think some of it went down his windpipe. Hes a little gurgly when breathing and hes breathing harder, no open mouth, nothing like that. Hes aware and awake. Hes a little shakey but he might just be cold.

Please do not tell me to take him to the vet, dont tell me bullshit answers, this is serious, how do i help the liquid come up

and BTW if it was serious enough to take him to the emerg, vet he would DIE BEFORE HE GOT THERE.

so dont give me this bullshit about taking hiim to the vet, now some\one pleas ehelp me!

Yes my vet said give olive (or reg veg oil) orally, 1tablespoon if needed.

He said it is no different then the expensive laxatives that they give in the vet.

It works quiet well, not that im suggesting you do it without vet consent, but this is the first time hes had this happen.

FYI I did use a damn syringe, I have plenty of them because I have to give my other cat sub-q injections and other injections.
SECONDLY I do not feed him shitty premade food, hes on a raw diet thank you very much.

And if you do not bleieve me my area code is 50317, des moines, IOWA united states, look it up your damn self before you go flaming me for something i am doing AS PER MY GOD DAMN VERTERINATION!! You do not know everything so go flame on someone elses post.

As for the raw diet it was specifically designed FOR HIM!

He is getting better so this is the last thing I'm going to say, and I don't know if the stomach thing helped or not but like I said he Is getting better.

Apparently ya'll don't understand. I live very far from the emergency vet clinic, if he got worse he would have died reguardless if i was on my way or at home.

Don't tell me to calm down by taking some Midol, at least I care enough to figure out what is wrong, and its not like I don't have someone watching my cat while on on the internet. And no not taking him IMMEDIATELY to the evet doesn't mean i dont care.

I follow my vets instructions to the T. That does NOT make me a bad person, and excuse me for wanting to search other venues while waiting on a phone call back. Which I might add i haven't recieved. If you were in my shoes and knew they might not make it would u stress them out and go, or stay and home knowing it wouldn't matter? Would u just sit there and no nothing? apparently so, not me however

As per the oil by itself I have never been told this by anyone, but it is what my vet said. I will ask him about it however I believe what my vet tells me is right, and fyi, there have been TWO vets that have told me to use oil and never with anything else.

I will moniter him and take him in tomorrow morning when my normal vet opens, he is breathing normally now, no more gurgly sounds, and we put him in a blankie so hes not cold(gotta love when they falls asleep in the window)

For those of you who actually tried to help thank you, and for those of your who decided just to flame, get a damn life. If you wanna be on yahoo answers, answer questions with constructive answers that are helpful, not the crap about how we're all horrible people because we go to the internet, if thats how u get your jollies i suggest you just go shoot yourself now. Miss 20 year in a cat shelter expert.

Report me or not, I really don't care.

It sounds to me like he inhaled some of the oil, which is what you think too. He is breathing, even if it's a little gurgly, which means he isn't choking. Have you ever inhaled some of your drink? It's uncomfortable, and a little painful, but it will pass in time. When giving mine a liquid wormer, which I have to do yearly because of the area I live in, my cat often does the same thing. It's a little funny to see when he gets it up his nose instead of in his lungs because of the nose bubbles he blows. All you can do is wipe off any he snorts out or coughs up, and wait for it to pass.

Inhaling oil is very serious. The cat will probably develop a very serious aspiration pneumonia.Oil should NEVER be given by itself,it should always be mixed with food.No one can help you,you will either have to take the cat to a vet or let it die a slow, agonizing death. And if by some miracle it doesn't get pneumonia,NEVER give the oil straight like that again, only give it mixed in wet cat food.

Not sure there is much you can do but provide comfort and monitor him. I am with you on not running right away to a veterinarian on all occasions, but if his condition worsens that may be your only humane option.

Were you giving oil orally by vet instruction? I am not sure I would treat feline constipation orally. Just my opinion.

How about phoning the vet to see what he says? I often do that before I rush off to the vet... at least then you will know if it is as serious as you think it might be.

Take some Midol and don't ask life-threatneing questions like that on YA.

If it gets worse and it is having trouble breathing, you may want to use pet CPR on it or pat it [slightly firmly] on its stomach.
