Not sure if you are aware that there is a licensing system for keeping reptiles in Australia and that you can only keep native Australian species. This link has the list of turtle species that can be kept with a class one license in NSW, if that's where you happen to be. The system differs slightly from state to state but the info can be found on-line for other areas as well.

That is one extensive answer! You should look instead for the species you can't house as a pet.

Normally, they are listed under CITES, which you can google-search. Also, go to the country's webpage and see if there are direct links to the wildlife, and natural resources of the place.
