My mouse is 2 and a half years old.
Lately I noticed that she has grown a lump on her shoulder?
The lump has a red thing on the top of it.
She has also started to lose her hair, and has a small scab on her back.
Im most worried about the lump.
Is there any way I can help my mouse WITHOUT taking it to a vet? Because we can't really afford to.
Thanks for any help.

Two and a half years old is old for a mouse no matter where you get it from. It sounds like the mouse has a tumor that is now ulcerating. The problem here is that the ulceration is going to get worse and cause a nasty wound that will inevitably become infected. I have to recommend bringing her to a vet only because there really isn't anything that you are going to be able to do for your little girl and most likely, the most humane thing to do at this point is to have him put to sleep. I know it sounds awful but she has led a good life if she has made it to 21/2 and you don't want her to suffer. Good luck and I hope it all works out for the best.

Not really, there's nothing you can do without knowing what the problem is, so the only advice you're going to get (with the exception of the retards), would be to take it to the vet. I know that rats in particular are prone to tumors, cancer, as well as many other problems- I'm sure this is true with mice as well.

2 years old for a mouse seems awful old, especially if it's a Petco mouse.

I don't recommend getting any pets at Petco, for the simple matter of they sell live rats as feeders, and any animal you buy from a pet store has come from a puppymill/backyard breeder type of home for sheer profit and no gain for yourself.

i be conscious of that rats are frequently providers to tumors, so it quite is achievable your mouse might have one additionally. i don't be conscious of approximately Australia, yet I called around to all the community vet clinics in my section (FL, US) and expenditures for a favourite examination for a rat value everywhere from $40-$80. the final ingredient to do is pull out a yellow pages and contact the vets on your section. ascertain they even manage mice, as some vets won't. Then ask approximately their costs for a favourite examination. stable success, i'm hoping it is not too serious!
