I want to exercise my dog more to improve her behaviour. She is very hyper 18 month old GSD lurcher, which a strong mind and can run forever! I've started taking her out in the morning before she eats her brekkie for a run next to me on my bike (its the only way I can go fast enough). She loves it, and has adapted to it very well. However, I'm not the fittest person. She could run more than what I can give her. What other ways are there to exercise your dog? I also give her a proper walk every day, and an evening trot round the block. But she's STILL not tired!!!
She's not obedient enough around other dogs to do flyball or agility, unfortunately.

I have a cat who I've had for the past 5 or 6 years. He was the most affectionate and loving cat when I first got him as a kitten. I've moved house 3 times since getting him and the last time I moved house he didn't react well at all. I have another cat who I've only had for the past year or so - he is really affectionate and lovely.

Tobi, the trouble cat, now sits on the stairs ready to swipe whoever walks past. He has gotten very skinny and during the day sleeps under our house and has gotten bad fleas, even though we regularly treat him properly. The vet says there is nothing wrong with him, so I don't know what to do. He will walk through a room and just hiss at nothing in particular. I have to wake up at 3am to feed him because he won't eat when anyone else is around, and he is aggressive to my entire family except me.
My mother recently got a puppy, and this has only made the matter worse.

I know that you can train dogs, but I need to know how to train a cat! Please help!

I do. It is our responsibilty to care for them, and for me that means making sure they are as healthy and happy as possible. A fat animal is not healthy, most of them are probably are not happy either.

I had got 3 Swordtail fish afew weeks ago. Two of them are going just fine. The other, in time has went down hill. This fish has lost weight, you can tell it is sick, it kinda looks like a skeloton. The spine is curved, the fins are bunched together. When this fish swims it is more like floping in the water then hangs around the top of the tank. I really thought the fish would have died by now but it is still alive. Do you think it may infect my other fish? Like i said it has been in the tank for at least 3 weeks now and none of my other fish seem to be sick. If you have any ideas on what is wrong with this fish please help.

My 1 year old lab retriever went under general yesterday, to have his ears flushed and bloodwork done for allergies. We picked him up at 5pm but since he got back he's been straining and unable to poo. He's also been rubbing his **** along the floor a bit, but it cant be worms as he was wormed only 2 weeks ago. He seems to be in some distress over this as he is whimpering a bit... it's 16 hours later now.

We fed him when we got back yesterday but havent since...

My family loves ginger cats. We live in Melbourne, Australia so does anyone know where we can get kittens from?

We've decided that we're not buying a cat from a pet shop (only from places like the RSPCA) and it doesn't have to be a pedigree or anything.

Anyone know any good sites that I could look at that has pictures of them?

Why horses are deprived of enjoying the sex. I have seen them frustrated for not having sex. Some owners also whip them on their testicles. I think they get blue balls (a painfull condition of balls when you get exited but are not allowed to ejaculate)

Hey I have a betta and he has little pebbles in his tank. Do they like big pebbles instead of little pebbles? What i mean to ask is is it OK to put big pebbles in instead of little pebbles?

Also he lives in a 2 1/2 L tank. i was told if bettas are given too much room to swim they get fin probl;ems. Is this true? Would he be better off in a big tank?

my dog knows this little puppy and when they first meet, they were really interested in each other and then my dog started to display signs of dominance such as sitting on the puppy etc. (not humping it as he is desexed). well they still played together really well but we hadnt seen the dog in months. now, its grown up quite and just then, when they met, my dog began to furiously growl at the dog. i was so surprised. i had NEVER in my whole life seen my dog acting like this before. he had never been so fierce or growled so loud before. he looked like he was going to hurt it. i immediately seperated the two and the owner (who was a friend of mine) took her dog away and i took mine away and told him off for what he did. he knew he had down something wrong because he slinked off. what i want to know is, why would my dog would suddenly behave like this with a dog he knows?
the other dog is male so does my dog feel threatened by him?
thanks

I have a glass tank that is 75cm/2.5ft long by 35cm/1.1ft wide by 50cm/1.6ft high.

We had tropical fish in there but they got sick and aren't there any longer... Well at the moment it's just sitting there.

I'd really like to get a turtle. Is my tank an alright size?

I have a filter and a heater at the moment. I'll need a light as well, is that right?

Is there anything else I need to know? Thanks heaps

My neighbor gave me his Rottweiler. He kept the poor thing outside chaned to the side of his garage. I called the Humane Society once on him. But for some reason, nothing happened. But I guess they got more complaints on the dogs condition. A couple of days ago, he gave me the rotty. His name is Hoss.

I took him to the vet yesterday. He got his shots, and was tested for heartworm. He came back positive. His is between 8 and 9 years old. The vet said that Hoss may not live through his treatment. He told me I needed make a decision on Hoss's future. I don't want to give up on him, he is a very good dog, but I don't want hem to suffer. What would you do?

I've heard vets say YES, we should do all necessary to prevent heartworm. But are they just trying to stay in business and want money? What's the REAL risk of an indoor cat getting heartworm from a mosquito? Is it the same as a human getting heartworm (very very very low)? Because if it is... i don't want to pay for heartworm prevention pills!

Our cat is allowed outdoors and sometimes spends hours away from the house. We'd like to know where she goes. Someone told us that there are tracking devices for dogs. Has anyone heard of similar ones for cats?

Hi!
I know cats are super stubborn, and they hate to learn...when my brother holds his cat, the cat always claws and tries to get away. My brother thinks, "we are their owners, so they should listen to us. we're the superiors. they're here for our enjoyment, they need to learn that." and he thinks he can train his cat by holding it in it's arms until it "gets it"...i'm trying to convince him that "it can't learn!" but he's sure it can. What's the truth?

When I adopted my dog the vet advised to use Advocate as flea and heartworm treatement. My dog also needs to have a tick collar because we are in a paralysis tick infested area and the vet nurse check to see if they were compatible (which they were). My question is, my dog thinks it's a game when I try and keep her still when I apply it. I get most of the stuff on her actual skin but some of it ends up just on her hair. I was just wondering if even with maybe not the whole dosis it is still effective against heartworm or should I maybe switch to heartworm tablets so at least I'm 100% sure she is protected?
