If the "CKC" in question is the Contenental Kennel Club, and not the reputable Canadian Kennel Club, then the papers aren't worth spit anyway. Contenental Kennel club is a bogus registry created for BYB's and puppymills who couldn't or wouldn't meet AKC's new DNA requirements for proof of dam and sire of litters.

I am only guessing here.. You are suggesting that someone that owns a CKC registered dog ( as in Canadian Kennel Club ) has used that dog and bred with another breed, and the resulting litter is mixed?!?

NO the CKC won't do anything UNLESS the dog was sold on a non breeding agreement. Or if the owner of the dog was a member of the Canadian Kennel club.. As a member of the CKC you promise not to have anything to do with breeding mutts.. You promise to promote and properly produce only purebred dogs..

You got more information .. Would make it easier if this isn't what you were looking for.

Since folks who use the Continental Kennel Club are irresponsible breeders in the first pace, why would they care?

CKC would register a goat as a great dane if you paid them enough - as long as they get their cash, they couldn't care less what the dog was.

Unfortunatly it isn't illegal to purposely breed two different breeds of dog. Take a good look at all of the "Designer Dogs", they are a crossbreeding nightmare. You can go down to the local animal shelter and find yourself a small mixed breed dog, but instead you see these BYB (backyard breeders) charging as much and at times even more than a purebred dog with registration papers and champion bloodlines.

Most dog registeries turn their heads at the alligations made for such acts. Since the registered dog can't register the crossbred dogs unless they lied about the pure nature of the bloodline!

While everyone doesn't agree with mixing two different breeds there are no rules against it. Some breeders do it to try and bring out the best in the two breeds as years of pure breeding can cause problems. How do you think we got the "pure" breed of today? Most dogs of today came to be from cross breeding to get certain characteristics in the breed. Even my vet says that cross breeds or even mutts often tend to be healthier dogs with less health problems. Don't get me wrong, I also love pure bred dogs-but mixed dogs are great too. In the end, that's really all that matters-not the piece of paper but the dog itself.

Depends, is that Continental or Canadian?

Continental is pretty much run by puppy millers anyway, so no dog under that registry has a reputation to start with.

If it's Canadian, they do have regulations about breeding, you could contact them to find out if anything can be done about the situation.

Sadly, no, but the breeder should lose all standing, until only idiots would breed their dogs with this person's. Unfortunately, there's a sucker born every minute.

CKC is a joke anyway. Its the GO TO registry for backyard breeders and puppymillers. You can register your dog for breeding by sending in a picture..... There doesnt even have to be a REAL pedigree...

you need to learn to SPELL--the word is REGISTERED. And I never heard of PIMPING a dog. Cross breeding is NOT illegal, last I heard.
