First, make sure she has no other cage mates. Hamsters rarely get along with other hamsters and will more often than not end up in a deadly fight with one another. Never put two together unless you are hoping to breed them, which is not something I would suggest doing unless you know how. Even then as soon as they are done mating the male should be taken away.

At this point all you can do is keep the stress level down for your pregnant female so she can have her litter. Do not be surprised if she eats them. I know this sounds morbid, but it is a fact of life for hamsters. She may eat none,a few, or all and that is not something you can control or help. Just give her space and time. Read up on what to do when she gives birth (do not touch the young!).

Good luck with your remaining hamster and good luck with the little ones later on!

Do to her? Nothing. The animals do not live by our moral code. They cannot be expected to. They are after all, just animals.
I have had many animals and with Rabbits and Guinea pigs the pregnant females are separated from the others, because their nesting instincts mean that they become more territorial. They need space to have their babies, and will fight for it with other animals. You should have know this. Read up on the care of your animal, but above all don't blame her. She was a mother running on instinct. And are you sure that she was the cause of death? If she wasn't then you could loose her and/or the babies too.

If you dont move you male hamster quick enough
then yes that will happen and now you got the experiance.
Your hamster will be fine. she's still going to have the babies.
A male hamster is only needed to mate with the female hamster.
Except for that you shouldnt do much
but remember when your hamster has babies and then
they all grown remember to seperate them!!!!

leave her alone with her children and do not disturbe her. in this sensitive time females like it more if left alone with their babies without interruptions. you may find more info about reproduction and how to take care of your pet pregnant hamster on: http://www.hamster-club.com

Why were they together in the first place? I think you were supposed to separate them after they mated?
