My Phantoms generally lose their color when the tank is dark (because they are resting), when they are stressed (something startles them, like turning on the light, sudden movements, or poor water quality), or sickness. If your tank is dark, that is why the fish is pale, and it is perfectly normal. If the fish is like this at all times, do a water change to lower the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. it could be a sign that they're sick........you can buy vitamin drops for the water to clean it out, if its the water making them sick.....visit your local pet shop.
