okay, so my dog is infested. but i dont understand why .. the grounds were sprayed last month, shes on flea pills from the vet, the vet also gave stuff to put onto her coat. she gets a bath once a week and shes STILL covered. they aren't on the cat. the arent biting us. its just her. i feel so bad because its like she cant walk 5 steps without stopping to scratch herself, and i know that has to suck. is there anything else i can do? i've washed her in flea and tick shampoo and the vet suggested dawn so i alternate by week, but its not helping . i swear they are multiplying by the second, and im out of ideas!! please help.

Don't cheat by just copy and pasting what you see on websites that list cat names! See how many cool names come to your mind!

thanks!

I have one of those automatic water dispensers for my cat. You fill it, turn it over, and it fills the bowl automatically. When it does that, just like a water jug, it bubbles. I think my cat enjoys the bubbles so much that he's swatting water out of the bowl in order to see it/hear it. It's cute and all.... but the problem is that my kitchen floor has giagantic puddles all the time. Which makes for a very unpleasant midnight trip to the sink....

I don't want to do a bowl because my guess is that he'll tip that over a bit easier.

So are there any suggestions out there as to what I can do to alleviate this? I can't really punish him for this as I don't want him to associate punishment with his water dish. Anyone have a certain water bowl (replenishing) that they would suggest? I'm willing to spend some money.... but not an exorbant (sp?) amount.

So, once again I had a question removed. I had linked another question to it, one where both the asker and the "Best Answer" patted each other on the backs because they both thought it was 'morally' wrong to spay or neuter an animal. Maybe I'm reading the wrong dictionary, but I would like to clarify the definitions and applications of these terms when it comes to pets entrusted in our care.

Do you feel a moral or religious obligation to allow your pet to breed at will and why do you feel that way?

Do you think your animal feels the same way about romantic love and reproduction as you do?

Do you think that it is better for domestic animals to be born into uncertain futures which often include short, painful lives and tragic deaths, rather than prevent their conception in the first place?

So, if you think every household pet should have the 'right' to reproduce, what do you propose to ensure that every one of these tens of millions of animals gets a good, permanent, home?

Hi, a couple months back a stray 6 month old cat followed my girlfriend home one night on her way back from work. It was in a terrible state & since he was a stray we decided to look after him. Hes incredibly affectionate and is constantly leaping around the house with loads of energy, and isnt scared of visitors. About a month back I thought id get him used to the outside seeing as he was always so restless & full of energy. I took him outside on a leash and once i'd got him used to that I took him out without one, but hes so jumpy once outside, every little noise or even someone walking past about 10 metres away makes him scared and he runs straight back to the house. We live in a 2 floor block of flats so theres always people about. A couple times he's got his confidence together & has begun to explore, but as soon as I turn to go inside he runs after me & follows me in. Is there anyway to help him get used to going back outside on his own?

I have a female kitten maybe a year and 4 months old, and shes not fixed. About 5 or so months ago she stopped using her litter box and decided that the carpet was better to use. I don't understand why....I haven't changed the brand of litter I use, I haven't moved the box and shes been acting like a normal cat despite the piddlings on the carpet.
Shes not acting or showing any signs of any discomfort or pain, but I'm not sure what to do.
Please help someone?
Thanks.

She doesn't do this to my boyfriend...Only to me. I'll be sitting there at the computer, and she'll jump on my foot, wrap her legs around my ankle, and try to bite down on my foot or leg. I push her away with my foot and say "No!" really firmly, but it doesn't seem to phase her. She just tries again. I end up having to put her in another room. Is there anything I can do to make her stop doing this? And why would she only do this to me? Thanks.

I just noticed when my cat was walking on my desk, he has whickers on the back of his paws! They feel and look exactly like whats on his face! I've never seen a kitty with this. Also, He meows ALLLLLL the time. AT everything and anything. Even when he's going potty he meows. He's not sick we just had him fixed and i know that's not bothering him ebcause he's done this since we found him in a junk yard. He's about 8 months old and has brother that we adopted from the pound the same age and Chance doesnt do it. Gangster ( the meowing whiskers kitty) has food, has water actually has water everywher ein the house lol, has a bed has enough toys and gets ALOT of attention. Its like he talks? I don't know! Anyone elses kitties do this? And does anyones kitty has whiskers on the paws? Maybe its because he's pure white and he's just different, i dunno!
Another question my other kitten same age, is starting to grow pointed little furs on the tip of his ears! Do I just have mutant kittens? :)

Alright, it's almost the end of the eventing season and my white pikeur breeches have several stainns left on them (after I washed them...) What is a safe way of getting the stains out? They are light coloured (the stains), so if worst comes to worst I can just leave them.
Also, please don't answer if you are just going to say "I don't know," or if you have never washed (expensive) white breeches and are only guessing how to do it, I don't want to ruin my good breeches, I compete for Canada in them!

Thanks, your answers are greatly appreciated...

I was finally able to catch the stray kittens lurking around my house. They are about 3 months old, eating good, and getting used to people.

When i first brought them into the house the first thing i did was give them a flea bath. I then put those flea drops on the back of their neck & all the towels i used went straight into the wash. I now have them in a HUGE HUGE dog crate isolated from the rest of the house (and my other cat) with their litterbox until i am sure they know how to use it properly.

I am simply fostering these kittens and wanting to find them good homes. Last night though, even after the bath & drops, i noticed a few fleas jumping on me. I'm so afraid my apartment is going to become flea infested because i rent.

Can anyone please advise on precautions to use/what to do? Are flea baths & drops supposed to work right away? Does vet medication work right away?

Help!

My new cat is only 6 weeks old, but ever since she was born, she has lived with several other cats and has always used the litter box. So it seems that she would naturally continue to use it.
So we have had her for a couple of days now, and she has used the litter box once. I know she isn't afraid or nervous because she started running around and exploring the place since we first brought her home. And she is defintely not sick or anything. Help.
