On Sunday we had to get him put to sleep and last night me and my fiancee brought the mattress into the living room to watch some movies. I was awake but I was still asleep but I seen my dog laying on my couch where he usually laid but when I opened my eyes he was gone. Was he really there in spirit or was it my subconscience wanting him to be there?

What was your most expensive vet visit for your pet?

It seems there are a lot of pet owners that don't think beyond the initial "purchase" of their new friend.

In 45 minutes.
I don't know what to expect, will she be realy tired? Our vets are quite good, they're doing stitches that absorb into the body or something so she won't have a cone. Will she be okay enough to walk home (4 minutes, the vets are realy close).
I'm scared I'll walk into the kennels and she'll seem drunk.

And how long will she be is pain for, she had her op at 1pm, it's now 4:17 pm

I recently caught a feral kitten, roughly 3 months old. I've been working at taming her, initially by feeding her outside and petting her when she ate, and then by keeping her in a large cage inside, taking her out to pet and play, feeding her, and slowly introducing her to the smaller rooms in my apartment.

Problem is, I need to go out of town for a three night period, so I'm concerned with how my absence will affect the taming process and what I can do to temper that by keeping her occupied. I figure I can ask a neighbor to check on her food and water, but beyond that, the neighbor might freak her out. I'm loathe to leave her in the cage should she react poorly to using the litter box. But I'm loathe to let her wander around the apartment as well, as that will freak her out. I could limit her to the one room she's familiar with, leaving the cage open, and making a make-shift wall, but who knows.

Any thoughts much appreciated

my cat had kittens 3 weeks ago. she is an outside cat but i brought her in the house to care for the kittens. well she and the kittens are covered in fleas and i have a chihuahua and she is starting to have them on her too! all of the soaps and treatments say for kittens over 6-8 weeks and not for the mother cats while nursing! so what can i do to get rid of the nastly fleas without harming the kitties
thanks in advance!!!

i'm going to see a litter of puppies tomorrow (staffordshire bull terriers) and i wanted to know whether their true personalities will be shown, as i'm quite keen to get a relaxed dog that will sleep on my childrens bed when it's older etc. we had a german shepherd before, but he was hyper until the end, and never slept on the kids beds, cos he'd be jumping around all night! this time i'd like a more laid back dog, but is it possible to assess that this early on?

A so called mate friend acquantence of mine this week found that her cat had the runs if you know what I mean, anyway, one night the cat decided to sleep under the bedsheets, instead of on top of the bed. She awoke to find the cat at her feet, she was anxious to find him there, so she got out of bed and pulled back the sheets to discover the cat still had the runs and had left the evidence on the bottom sheets..... what steps can she take to sleep with ease... and not have ******* filled sheets. True story

Okay the thing is my husband is in the army and is overseas and right now I am living on the base. However, the housing people are kicking everyone that are on my street out. I already have another house on reserve. however, my biggest issue is my oldest dog. He is very protective and he does not get along with strangers at all. My friend told me that if he bit anyone on the base, I and or my husband could go to jail for it.

I need some training help. What could I do as far as training him to be not so aggressive? I am afraid that once I do move into the new house, and when I take him outside he will be a big issue. And I dont want to end up having to put him down over this. I could never do that.

What can I do? What would you do? Please help me as I love my dog so much. I love him as though if he were my actual child. There has to be something I can do.

My neighbour has a 18month old husky pup that she refuses to tie up!! It`s frustrating!! Is bolting part of the genetic make up of this breed?? She says even if she ties it with a chain it will bolt. I can`t see how any dog is strong enough to break a chain?? Anyhow it came up on my deck and ate my husbands supper last night, ( that was on the bbq, steaks, and chicken breasts), this isn`t the first occurance. I told her I was concerned for my pomeranian pup safety as well. But she thinks an electric fence will do, I know it won`t...She`s tried the electric fence and the pup has ended up in my yard several times...It`s frustrated, what do I say??

She's an indoor cat and about 8 months old and so skinny! Her butt is to the point of being bony! I had her dewormed and her first set of shots at 6 months. But I'm just unsure what else to do or give her to fatten her up. Her mama was skinny so maybe that's it? I've changed her to higher quality dry food (at petco) and still nothing. I give her the wet food occasionally. She's bony. And she isn't very cuddly except when she's alone with me and the kids are gone. She pounces and bites and everything... is she playing or just irritated because she isn't being fed well?
