It's good to change foods often as cats can get very fussy when it comes to food. However, if your cat isn't fussy, you can give it different brands and different flavours each day (some with gravy and some with jelly). You wouldn't like to be fed chicken in jelly every day so don't feed your cat like that or else it will go looking to find a new home with somebody else that feeds it.

Your cat is the ultimate judge on this. If it can handle it without digestive upsets then the answer is yes.
Be sure not to feed fishy foods more than 2-3 times per week. If the Sheba you're feeding is the one that is only meant for "supplemental feeding," then be sure that this isn't served more than 1-2 times per week or your cat will begin showing signs of deficiencies.
And watch for weight problems. Those are not premium foods, and dry food especially can cause weight gain. So just keep an eye on it.

Cats seem to have less trouble with wet food changes, than they do dry. If you try to do that with dry food you're probably going to have some problems - namely, a cat throwing up.
On the other hand, I tried to give my cat the turkey version of the wellness canned catfood she eats instead of a chicken based one and she threw up very soon after. Maybe she's allergic to turkey.
If your cat doesn't have stomach / litter problems, it's probably okay but why mix at all? Find a good quality brand that she likes and stick with it. Most grocery store type brands are not very good quality, btw.

It's ok to mix the types of foods- but it is best not to change brands on them. (don't feed them sheba one day and friskies the next) It could make them sick. But it is good to feed them both wet and dry food.

Be careful with that. I gave my cats some Science Diet Oral Care dry food from a 1 pound sample bag I purchased. One of my cats had a really bad reaction to it, he was puking and had diarreah for 2 days. I immediately threw the rest of it out. They like the regular Science Diet but this new stuff was really disagreeable to their system. If you notice one of your cats experiencing problems like that or skin disorders it is probably due to a change in diet.

By using a variety, you are giving he/she/it tastes of different kinds. This is good. The he/she/it won't get stuck on one favorite. Female cats can handle dry food better than males. This is because the ash in the dry stuff affects the male urinary tract in a different way. Since we don't know what you have, he/she/it, just be forewarned. Dry foods supplement the moist foods and fill out the diet more.

Actually, veterinarians recommend it. Don't mix it though. Give him one type one day and a different one the next day. (that is probably what you meant by mixing).

I think it will be all right. Sometimes your cat needs to change it's taste and flavour too.
