Alright, it's almost the end of the eventing season and my white pikeur breeches have several stainns left on them (after I washed them...) What is a safe way of getting the stains out? They are light coloured (the stains), so if worst comes to worst I can just leave them.
Also, please don't answer if you are just going to say "I don't know," or if you have never washed (expensive) white breeches and are only guessing how to do it, I don't want to ruin my good breeches, I compete for Canada in them!
Thanks, your answers are greatly appreciated...

I use the aerosol Shout, seems to work better than the handspray one. Really cover the stains and then let it sit for 2 or 3 days, wash as normal and then check while wet to see if it's moved them or lifted them and then do it again if needed. My son has a lot of expensive clothes which are light colored and that's how I get the various disgusting stains out of his clothes. You could also try a Clorox bleach pen but only if the breeches are true white and not off white, they work well too.

I use the product called Shout to remove any kind of stain from any colored or white garment. It works best if you treat the stain before washing, let sit for five minutes, then throw it in the wash machine. Once you have washed and dried a stained garment, the stain "sets" and is much more difficult to remove. Shout will not harm your breeches. Good luck.

There are several things that work, my favorite is spray and wash dual power. Another thing that works but I would try this in a place that would not show first is peroxide and lemon juice and salt and rub let set and see if it changes the color of your pants it works great for getting out most stains, but can sometimes change the color or "bleach out" the fabric due to the peroxide. The spray and wash dual power usually always works even for set in stains.

Okay, soak them in a dilute bleach solution for about six hours. (about 1 cup bleach to 8-9 cups water, more bleach will get them whiter, but will also deteriorate them, fast, so unless you want to go to a show, and feel your breeches "holing up" midway through the dressage test, be careful) then use shout, or a tide pen to go over the particular spots. (shout is good for green goober spots). Scrub the spots a bit if you like! Then throw them in the wash on a delicate cycle, maybe even throw more bleach in with them. Look for bleach for delicates, sometimes Wal-mart will have it!

I don't know if it's available where you are, but I find nappysan (used to wash old fashioned terry towling nappies) works wonders. It doesn't damage leather seated breeches either. I leave mine soaking in it overnight, then wash as usual the following day.

Peroxide does good on some stains. Then Spray & wash is good. I have like 5 different things for stains. Try everything!! Just don't put into dryer until you know it is out!!!!!

Apparently ( ie I have been told this works but never tried it ) soaking them in Biotex overnight before washing them will do it.
Biotex used to be sold in small packets and old ladies use it on their net curtains etc.
If that doesn't work I'd try taking them to a specialist cleaner.

Wash them with a little bleach, not to much because it will eat through them!

it would help to comprehend what instructions you're exhibiting in. once you're exhibiting dressage, circulate with white. once you're exhibiting hunters or another flat class, circulate with tan. once you're exhibiting jumpers, whichever you prefer.
