When i try to train her at all i try to reward her with treats, we have had her for going on 3 days now and i have gone nowhere without her, i want her to know that i am not only her master but a friend and i mean love not pain. I think she was being raised as a fighter, and the previous owners couldnt get her to do what they wanted so i am trying really hard to get her to eat healthy getting her back on dog food has been interesting but accomplished. she is great with my kids, but for what reason would she not take treats? i have never had a dog that would not take treats. all different kinds none the less. She will not listen to my commands, and i dont feel i am completing my attempt to train her unless i give her treats after she does something correct. any input on different treats or different ways to train a boxer dog? would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I was looking at petfinder.com and I found a cat I think I would like to adopt. I emailed the animal control center, which is where the cat is, and they didn't respond after a couple days. So this morning around 8:30 I called and left a message. It seems they don't answer their phone, and my call wasn't returned today either. How long does it usually take? All I want to do is set up a time to come in and see the cat and meet with the officers to discuss adoption.

I am having a 2-year-old male labrador, light brown tan with a very disturbed and irritative behaviour. He is actually a cute fellow but with the behavior he is having it makes me more disturbed than love him or pamper him. He is actually a trained dog but still behaves like an untrained fellow, however, the doc says he may be requiring more food but he is already getting sufficient food. So can anyone help me out with this.

I recently got a cat and my dog is insanely jealous of him. I love my dog dearly and I don't want him to feel misplaced by the cat. He was a rescue dog, so he's really attached to me. He and the cat get along fine, they play together all the time, but when ever the cat comes near me or I pet him, my dog acts really jealous.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to help my dog feel less anxious about the cat being in his house?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

sometimes my healthy, 3-5 y/o medium chow mix
tries to throw up.. it's likes she hacks up to cough up
something but nothing ever comes out of her mouth..
and can this be at all from stress?
we found her and have had her for 2 months and 9 days now
i see her do this usually almost every day
i took her to the vet about 1 month ago (or less) (for shots)
and idk if she has ear mites or not, too..
she rubs her head sometimes on my leg or w/e else and scratches it sometimes when she's laying down (when i don't want to scrtach her tummy)
i clean her ears about ever 1 1/2 weeks but i can't tell or not..
about a month oago or a little more ago her ears got cleaned by someone else and she had ear mites then..
and is it normal for their ear wax to be red-ish brown?
thanks

Help! My spayed female cat just decided to pee all over my scrub uniforms for work! They were in my laundry basket in my room and she peed in the basket! She has a litter litter pan in my room too, and I clean it every morning! She has never done this before and this is the only time (that I know of) that she's done it. Afterwards, she used her litter box now. It figures, she has to pee on my work uniforms! I have tried soaking the clothes in vinegar and baking soda and the smell is still there! I have to get this smell out of these clothes, I paid a lot of money for them! Can anyone help me??
Thanks to all who respond!

She is a three year old meine coon ( I think that is how you spell it). She has been sneezing for the past two weeks and today when I came home from work I noticed her right eye is swollen(on the inside). It looks kind of like her lid, top and bottom, is flipped. She is also missing a patch of hair on her right ear. Same side as the eye. She's eating and using the bathroom alright. She was around another cat that I was considering rescuing from APL but they didn't get along. The rescue cat was tested for FIV and FLV both negative. It was being treated for kennel cough. Besides that I can't think of what it could be and I really need to know if I should be taking off work to take her to the vet or if she'll be okay until Thursday when I have a day off?

Okay, so I have two "Beware of Dog" signs on my fence, on both sides. I let my dogs out to do whatever and a kid decides to jump my fence. He doesn't look to see if the dogs are out or not. He is walking across the yard and my dogs see him. The kid starts to run towards the back fence and doesn't make it. The dogs jump on the kid and start to bite him. Are you responsible for the medical bills? Do you think that I could get sued?
**This is just a hypothetical question. It didn't really happen.**

I have two kittens, one male one female. Both are around 16 weeks old, and the male's testicles have started to drop, so I know in a few months he can be neutered, but I was wondering about the female as I don't think it's as obvious as with males.

Ok so my sister traded one of our corn snakes for an iguana almost 2 months ago. Then she dumped it on poor me LOL.

I've been keeping it in an uncovered rubbermaid container with sterilized sand and sticks. He'll only eat romaine lettuce. The little dude isn't fond of his enclosure, he roams freely about the house. He gets alone great with my miniature dachshund and cockatiel. It's really cute.

I'm sure I'm breaking several iguana care rules. Can any of you correct me so that mine can live happily and healthily for a long long time? Thanks! :)

He started life feral but has resided at a shelter and was reasonably social with other cats and let workers pet him.

The same day we also adopted another 6 month old kitten who's very social and well adjusted.

We knew he'd be "skittish" at first, so we let him out of the carrier and put food, water and a litter box down for him and gave him space.

After the first night, we looked for him and couldn't find him.

The 2nd night we heard a crash in the kitchen, we approached and he went ballistic, running to and fro, jumping straight up, breaking stuff; it was sad. We left him alone and he disappeared again overnight.

We figured out that he'd found a hiding place inside kitchen cabinet behind the dishwasher. We've coaxed him out and blocked the entrance.

The other kitty interacted with him and seemed to be trying to calm and encourage him, talking and trilling.

Now he's in the closet. We'll continue to be patient and give him space.

Any suggestions on easing him into our home?

I just took in 2 baby kittens that were abandoned by their mother under my porch. They were both doing very well until today. I woke up one of them around 2 hrs ago to feed and he can't stay awake for longer than 2 seconds, literally! He wakes up to my voice, but otherwise sleeps non-stop. I know he's still young and tend to sleep a lot but this seems abnormal since he's usually hard to put down. Has anyone else experienced this??
