Most cats have enough sense not to drink water that is stagnant or nasty-tasting. As others have stated, beware of chemicals, anti-freeze, and so on. You haven't defined 'gross', so we're just guessing here. If kitty is acting normal and hasn't been throwing up, I'd say she's just doing a normal cat thing, i.e., supping water we humans wouldn't even touch, let alone drink. Keep an eye on her, but try not to worry too much. She'll probably be just fine.

If your cat looks fine, she probably is. It depends on what was in the water. Toilet water (unless you just cleaned your toilet) is fine, a dirty puddle in the backyard should be okay. If you suspect that there is a chemical or something such as motor oil in the water, go to a vet. Again, chances are your cat is fine. A few licks of water that didn't make her shake her head and walk away, she's probably okay.

Things like drinkiing from the toilet are common for cats and dogs. She probably won't get sick from it, but keep your eyes on her for awhile to make sure. If you notice any behavior changes or signs of illness, take her to the vet.
As long as there wasn't any toxic chemicals in the water, you're fairly safe because cats have saliva that contains natural antibiotics to kill harmful bacteria...not all bacteria, but most of the bad stuff.

If the water was just dirty,no problem. If you think that there were chemicals in it then you need to keep an eye on it. Animals can handle some pretty gross stuff.

She will be fine, animals often drink water they come across when they are outdoors gross or clean with no issues. Unless it had chemicals in it your cat will be fine. Cats and dogs both will drink out of the toilet too...

depends where the water was:
toilet
sink
shower
acid rain puddle?
unless it was known contaminated water i wouldn't worry.
i wouldn't take her to the vet unless i saw symptoms of sickness. cats can digest "gross" things including water that is suspect. even though it seems gross at the time
