Unfortunately not. It does not have the elasticity that humans have, yet with obese people; they don't have enough elasticity either. The only remedy is, just like humans, cosmetic surgery. However, it is not as expensive to perform on a cat. Being a female, she may loose her breasts or have to have multiple incisions, but the vet will advise you. You may want to just give a call to the vet and the nurse who answers has heard this question before and would most likely answer it for you on the phone and give you an estimate range of what it would cost. I am sure it would be pennies on the dollar compared to the same procedure for a human. Additionally a cat would recover much quickly also.

I think you and your cat would be more comfortable if you have this done, only if you think the cat will keep the weight off. Thank you for the question; it is nice to know someone is so concerned for their pet.

Depending on how overweight she was, with exercise her skin will take several months to become normal again.
