i.e. he digs up the litter box.

He's five months old, and I am at a loss as to break him of the habit... if I lock him out of the room where the litter is, then the cat is either locked in or out. It's so gross and I'm so sick of cleaning up the litter he digs up... any ideas?

I have always liked cats, and dogs. I have liked some pets more than others. I get tired of that stupid bumper sticker that says "Lost your cat? Check under my tires." Not funny. When I was young, my mom watched some stupid "redneck" in a big truck swerve into our front yard to purposely run down my pet Siamese cat, George. When people laugh about that kind of thing, especially with cats, it really gets me steamed.

My partner is the experienced dog owner, I'm new at this with a nine week old pup. I've just spent two days home alone with Humphrey (that's the pup), we went for a walk twice a day and he did any in between business in the garden.
Now I hear from my partner - who's home with him today - that he's already messed the house thrice today, even though my partner is probably far more even keel with him when it comes to discipline than I am.
The pup tends to go a bit bananas during the evening, especially when my man comes home, he messed the house then too.

I realise he's still little and there is probable not too rhyme or reason to him yet but this is noticeable. He has to be home alone for half a day tomorrow - I can't find a pupsitter - and I worry how he might behave, like when he's with me or like when he's with my partner.

Yesterday my husband took our dogs for a walk in the local woods. There are huge signs that says 'No Cycling, allowed'. Anyway you can walk right around a huge lake and on the way our dogs were let off their leashes. They are good dogs, friendly with everybody and friendly with dogs that also walk unleashed. My husband was stopped in the path by a jogger who asked him if he could stroke our dogs. Our dogs at the time was lying resting by my hubbies feet. A man and a young girl came past on bicycles [Prohibeted] the man shouted at my hubby told him to get his dogs under control and can't they find a better place to stand and talk. They the cyclist were on mountain bikes and road past on the grass , the man still shouting at my husband who by then had told him the they are not allowed cycling there. Now i have discovered that these people live about 3 houses away from us. What would your reaction have been?.

It appears to be a male duck (judging by the size). He's usually alone, so I have no other ducks to compare him to. He has markings that remind me of a mallard, but different. His head is dark brown (not green) and he does have the lighter band on his throat. His body is a very light tan color. He's bigger than a mallard also. I've never seen one like him. I live in South Florida and he's in the pond by my house.

Sometimes the tuna for my sandwiches is cheaper than pet food. Should I buy it for my cat? When I open a can of cat tuna what's inside is dark reddish brown. Chicken of the Sea is never that color. Why?

15 y/o cat, regularly groomed, seized Thurs 9/20
during bath. all natural detergent free shampoo. same always used. He is the third cat to seize at bath recently. Can improper mixing of natural ingredients cause seizures? Could product be contaminated? Cat vet treated. Still clumsy 9/24, inner eyelid covering eye, treated with steroid & valium. Vet expected improvement in a few days. Any info, comments, help appreciated.

I'm not a big fan of corn, because of mycotoxin poisoning. But, I know many feed corn and have fed corn for years w/o problems. I know it will really fatten up a horse. But, I've also seen several horses in the local Amish community die from mycotoxin poisoning from corn. So...I know there are two sides.

Because of the drought in our area, farmers are baling cornstalks and others are making silage...so for all of these people who have yet to buy hay, is corn silage a (relatively) safe option? Are the roundbales of cornstalks the same as silage? I've looked for resources and have come up short.

If you want the quick 2 points, please feel free to give me the "OMG no never" or the "Me & Paw fed corn for over 50 years" but what I really want are good research sites to question the vet about. Poor hay beats eating snowballs, but poisoning is another matter entirely.

There are going to be a lot of hungry horses around me this winter and it's a question of balancing risk.

I am thinking of possibly getting my dog tested for allergies, so I can better control them. I am having him neutered soon and was going to talk to the vet about my options but I wanted to know if anyone has had their dog tested or done something similar. If so, do you know the cost of the tests. I would prefer the blood screen over the injections.
I am also going to ask the vet if there is any medicine that will help his itching and scratching more, bendreyl is not working.
If you have any insight or suggestion please feel free to comment. thanks.

i have a deaf white cat. she is about 9 years old or maybe even older. she has been throwing up alot the past week. most of it looks like hair balls. some of it is just food. but for the past day or so all that comes out is like white foam or spit. not sure what is going on with her. i took her outside last night & she ate a lot of grass. she is bad. she eats alot of things that she should not like ribbon. we try to keep that away from her but she finds it. she also will eat fake plants. she has been sleeping & hiding alot. she seems like she is cold. she sleeps in front of the fridge if she is not hiding. what could be wrong?

have you had problems with other peoples dogs coming into your yard? Many dogs came up to our real fence barking, snarling and threatening, so I wondered if a dog would be safe with an electronic one.

When I adopted my 4 month old black lab puppy from the SPCA 3 months ago I signed a contract that states I agree not to sell the dog or give it away. I called them the other day to advise them I may need to return the dog at which point she advised me that dog relinquished by their owner will most likely be put down because they have to give the strays a chance to be adopted. She's only 4 months old and I don't want to take her back just to be killed. I also don't want to violate my contract. I can no longer care for her. I am 3 1/2 months pregnant and struggling with terrible morning sickness and my husband works nights and can offer no assistance with the dog. What should I do? Will they really kill a 4 month old puppy if I take her back?

My cat recently started peeing on my pillows on my bed and on my thorw pillows and throw blankets on my couches. Could this be a bladder infection and if so how do I cure it? Can giving him cranberry pills in his food help? He is 1 1/2 years old and fixed. I recently had to give him seditives because we moved could that be causing the problem he also had ear mites taken care of. Could that have led to a urinary tract infection?
