I am having a 2-year-old male labrador, light brown tan with a very disturbed and irritative behaviour. He is actually a cute fellow but with the behavior he is having it makes me more disturbed than love him or pamper him. He is actually a trained dog but still behaves like an untrained fellow, however, the doc says he may be requiring more food but he is already getting sufficient food. So can anyone help me out with this.

What the heck?? The vet recommends that you feed the dog more.. and YOU decide that the dog is eating enough already?? What are you.. a vet?

Train him.. If he is misbehaving, the he is NOT trained.. How can a dog that is trained, behave like an untrained dog???????????

well it sounds like he might turn out to be aggresive.. you MUST deal with the problem now, or it will be a way bigger problem when he grows up. reinforce the things he knows.. (examples: sit, stay, lie down, etc..) teach him new obedience tricks. give him treats when he is calm, loving, and not aggresive.. if he starts showing some bad behavior, this is what you do:
when he is being bad, pick him up the SECOND he does the bad thing, and take him to a room that does NOT have any toys, any food, or any one for him to play with. keep him there for about 1 minute. this WILL have to be done more than once!!!!!!! but it is a very good and effective way to train your dog without hurting him/her... he will learn.. it may take about a couple of days to a week for him to learn that bad behaivor gets him to isolatioin. Good luck with your puppy!!! :) i train dogs so i GARUNTEE that this method will work!! :)

Why go to the vet if your not going to follow his advice?? He told you to feed the poor fellow more and you decide that is not good advice. He's probably bored....work his training more and spend some time with him...and give him some treats and large bones to keep him happy.

What is the "irritative behavior"?

Your vet said he may need more food, but you think otherwise?
If you don't want to listing to your vet, surely there's nothing anyone here can tell you.

You'd have to be specific about the behavior, is he humping your leg bvecause that's a dominance thing and should NOT ever be tolerated.
Some dogs will go so far as to urinate on you.
Never tolerate this behavior.

i had a lab, and for the first three years of her life, she made me crazy.!! ran into a lady at a park with an older lab, and i was amazed at the difference in behavior. she told me they mature slowly and to be consistent and firm as well as patient. she was well worth the effort

maybe spending more "quality"time with it.& do what the vet says too. If you aren't giving it the attention it wants it will act out . maybe seperation anxiety if you are gone alot.
