When I picked him up from my boyfriends house he was on the verge of dying. Extreme weakness, lifeless little body, his legs were sort of stiff. I rushed him to the vet and they said he suffered from a low sugar crash(hypoglycemia). Out vet suggested we give him a small syringe of Light Karo Syrup whenever he has one of those crashes again. They also suggested we feed him every hour once we brought him home. But upon our returning him, he won't eat a lot(we feed him eukanuba and the cans the vet gave us), and we even tried blending the food and feeding small amounts through another syringe. He's had one crash since we brought him home, but quickly resolved that with the syrup. Is there any other way to get him to eat? and drink his water? (hes also .8 lbs, if that makes a difference) (btw, the people we got the puppy from said he was about 8 wks, and after i told them about the crash, they said he was about 2-8 wks, and don't even know when he was born)

My dog was in my yard when an unneutured dog came up and started mating with her. The entire time she was growling, but she never stopped him or tried to get away, she just let him continue. They were together for about ten minutes and the he got off. They did it a few more times and she did the exact same thing. They actually did it about 12 times but i think that only 3-4 were more than 7 minutes long. My dog came from the pound and the pound told us she was spayed, but my old male dog that is now passed on, also tried to do this. So could my dog be preganant?

My 17 year old male orange marmalaide tabby died August 28. He had been taking Tapozole for his hyper thyroid for about 2 years. Two weeks prior to having to put him down the vet gave him 3 baths to rid him of a massive flea infestation. That day when I brought him home he was a completely different cat. He was very skinney, had become extremely week and jumping up onto the couch, his balance were obviously different. He stopped cleaning himself. He stopped talking.The vet said he was anemic. They told me that they had bathed him 3 times that day. During the next two weeks Orange had a good, normal appetite and drank tons of water. As time passed he became weaker and one morning while observing him talking a poop, he just fell over onto his side and lay there during his bal-movement. I helped him to finish, I picked him up and cleaned him. He always bounced back from everything else, so I had hope. He was put to sleep just hours after all this. WHY? I am severely truamatized and depressed. Did I do the wrong thing.

My cat has recently (just in the last three days) been freaking out over the ceiling. He sits in the loungeroom and something will catch his eye and he'll watch the ceiling, and move around staring, as if he is chasing something, or he can see something. Thing is, nothing is there. No marks, no bugs, not anything.
He'll be happily playing, see it and run. Afterwards, he seems upset or agitated. Is this normal? He is an indoors cat, and is less than a year old (bout 9 or so months)

ok so i see my dog rubbin his self on the floor astin funny and waggi his tail.

My dog has flaky, dry skin in places and his coat isn't so shiny. He also gets frequent ear-infections (though we clean his ears often) and lately has been having some itchiness and watering of his eyes. None of this is severe, just ... ongoing. I'm wondering if he's mildly allergic to or sensitive to something in his food, since it doesn't seem to be seasonal. I'm considering changing his food.

My question is this ... has anyone noticed an improvement in skin and/or coat condition after switching to Canidae from another brand? And, if so, would you describe?

If you feed your dog Canidae, why did you choose that brand? And, how does it compare cost-wise to the more widely-available so-called "premium" brands (Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet)?

Well, I asked a question earlier.... i was freaking out because my new cat that a friend gave me three weeks ago gave birth to kittens today unexpectedly in my living room.... it totally freaked me out....

But i got over it... my cat finally came out of hiding a little while ago to eat and drink... then she actually took me to her babies!!!! :) How awesome is that??? There are FIVE of them!!! I am in shock because I did not even know she was pregnant.... she wasn't even big! She's so little!

Oh my gosh, though... they are absolutely precious... tiny little things.... I'm in love! :) hehe.... that's ALL i need is SIX cats!!!!

but they're so sweet!!!!

gah what in the world am I to do here????

Anyway, they are in the closet in a corner... I set up a box with a blanket in it... but should I put the kittens in the box? Or just let momma do that? I want to help, but I don't want my Smoky (momma) to be freaked out or think I'm trying to hurt them...

We just put Frontline on our cats this evening and the one is not looking very good. :( He acts like it hurts/burns to open his eyes, his eyes are 'seeping' (?), and he seems to be foaming at the mouth (or something similar). Any thoughts? I'm really concerned! Thanks.

Well you see my dog got poisoned by my new neighbors. When he is recovered my mom and dad want to give him up for adoption. The reason for this is because they are worried my neighbors will kill him this time by shooting him or something really bad. After he was poisoned i REALLY HATE my neighbors now I CANNOT FORGIVE THEM my mom saw them when they poisoned him but we have no evidence and i know thew wont tell the truth. I want him back so bad but would it be better to give him to a better home. He is like a pure breed German shepherd i do miss him and also my whole family.

I bought a big bag of dog food today for my 2 year old Schnauzer and they did not had mini bites for adults so i bought the puppy one and wen i came home i notice it said for large breeds, and i was wondering if it was ok to feed that to my dog ??? what do you think ???

Earlier today I put him in a solo cup while I changed the water in his bowl and he jumped out. It took a couple of minutes to get him back in but he seems healthy except for the resting thing. Besides this behavior has been a couple of days before his jump.

The vet says the next step is a biopsy which costs a fortune. I've made an appointment for one but I'm hoping someone else knows what he has and can make a suggestion to help him. He doesn't scratch the area and the sores are spreading but along his back only.

I want to make a cave for my fish. I'd like to use somenthing creative but know that I could also contaminate the water if I use something that leeches into the water. I know my aquarium-safe gravel is painted with latex. So, can I use latex paint to coat a rock or something and use that in the tank?
