I just got a silver dollar fish and dwarf frog. I need to know if they will do one another any harm. Also if the dwarf frog will eat the tropical fish flakes I bought. HELP!

Silver Dollars are schooling fish and if they are kept singly, they may become stressed and go after their tank mates. At 6 inches, a fully grown Silver Dollar could easily eat a Dwarf Frog... I would suggest you get a 75 gallon tank with 5 Silver Dollars, a few Dwarf Frogs, and some other bottom dwellers like Cories. Email me if you have any questions...

Probably not a great idea, but I once had a couple of dwarf frogs with about 4 small jack dempseys. They did interact, were amusing even, and the frogs didn't get picked on.
Oh, and how big is your tank, as you should have at least 4 silver dollars and they are a very active, and easily startled, fish. Also, vegetarian. The frog will probably not eat the flake. There used to be a special frog food in a tube that mine liked. Should still be out there.

I normally feed my frogs sinking pellets while the fish are eating flake food that stays mostly at the top of the tank. Usually by the time the fish have finished their flakes, they lose sight of where the pellets landed, and the frogs have a chance to get to them. I don't normally see the fish eating the pellets once they're on the bottom of the tank, and I do see the frogs (and the loaches) eating them. Good luck. :)
