I answered this question to the best of my ability, gave advice, and a little criticism, and the asker keeps e-mailing me and chastising me for being "very rude and inconsiderate." Do you all think I was excessively rude with my truthful answer?

My 1 and a half yr old cat has suddenly stopped using his litter box. We are going on day 7 of refusal to use it. Hes going in the sinks and bathtubs. The box is completely clean. I have even given it a scrub down. We havent changed brands of litter and nothing has changed in the household. I dont have the slightest idea why he is doing this or how to stop him. Its driving me CRAZY. Help.

Is it ok to give my two guinea pigs lettuce and cucumbers every day? Occasionally I give them bell pepper with it or carrots or celery, but every day I give them lettuce and cucumbers? They eat it all to!

I came across some little bumps on my dogs skin the other night when I was scratching around his neck. He seems to only have them around his neck area and he is being unusually itchy. There little smaller then pea size and I can't really get a good look at them cause he has so much fur that it's hard to see. Does anyone know what this could be? And where I live we don't have ticks and very few cases of fleas, and he hasn't been travelling anywhere outside my province (where fleas are more common) but I don't want to rule those out just in case!

My dog has to be tied during the time I am gone to work so he does not get into the cables around the house and air condition unit. I walk him around a few blocks for 30 minutes when I get home. When I go inside he has to be tied down. I only let him loose when I stay outside.

My 7-year old cat broke out recently with about 15 bloody bumps all over her forehead, in front of her ears. My sister, a veterinarian, told me over the phone it is likely an allergy and we traced it to some bonito flakes I had fed her as a special treat two days before--she told me to use small amounts of neosporin and hydrocortisone and it should clear up in a couple of days. I'm shocked and had never heard of this, but there were no other changes in her diet or surroundings. Her brother ate the same flakes, but she also cannot eat most brands of dry food without throwing up and he is not like that, so I guess she is sensitive. My question is, has anyone else ever experienced this with bonito?

Hotspots?
I have never had any experience with hotspots personally, but i came home last night to find one of my dogs missing fur and red hot spots on his back leg... Although he is not showing signs of pain i know he has to be experiencing pain.

Any treatments would be appreciated!

And it needs to be about medium sized, smaller than a german shepard but bigger than a chihawa (no chiwawas either). It has to be low active and not shed a lot. Like a westie but it needs to be abit bigger. I'm all up for mixed breeds and suggestions

Thanks!

My cat is 12 years old, his name is Fred. We used to clean his litter box maybe three-four times a week. Now i'm cleaning two, even three times a day. It's clumping more than it used to, and these clumps are huge. Proably the size of my head. It's never been like this before, and i'm wondering if maybe it's because he's peeing more often. Maybe his kidneys are having problems because of his old age. I have no idea, i'm lost, please help.

I wanna medium to giant size dog. I want it to be very strong and powerful, i wanna nice jogging companion. I feel i can control a dominating dog. I wanna dog that will bark, but then will protect me or the property from what it perceives as a threat. I wanna loyal dog, that will obey the first time hes told to do something. I have trained many other breeds, so his learning rate isn't a big deal to me, as an easy dog to train is cool, but a hard one to train gives me and the dog a challenge, and Ive accomplished something great. I wanna make him an all purpose working dog. Maybe even a therapy dog. Preferably a bully breed or something close, so i can educate people about the breeds, and fight bsl. Thank you in advance for your time and recommendations.

The other night my roommate's cat went missing. He is usually home at least four times a day to eat. He relies on us to feed him. I am wondering if male cats still feel the need to runaway and chase females even if they are neutered. Or maybe he would run away for some other reason. No one wants to believe he is dead yet. Just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible for him to be out there wandering around like un-neutered cats do....

My cat Gem is 12 years old. Not long after I first had him he went missing for about three weeks. When he turned up again he had been neutured by my neighbours who live two doors' away. They said they thought he was a stray and had become friends with their female cat. They had put them both into a cattery while they went away on holiday and had him neutured, without making any attempt to knock on neighbours' doors or find out who he belonged to. I have since continually asked them not to feed him or allow him into their house but have been ignored. Consequently, he became very overweight. More recently he has suffered skin problems. Their cat died two years ago but I have found they are still ignoring my requests and become angry with me. They appear to regard Gem as a surrogate for their cat who died instead of taking on the whole responsibility of getting themselves another cat of their own. Our Vet now treating Gem for bald patches. What are my legal rights?.

A pitt bull or a rottweiler?

We have two indoor cats, and one outdoor/indoor 50/50 dog..

The dog, eats the cat-food!! The cat food is "Whiska's".. And we KNOW when we move the dog-food inside, the cats are going to start eating it.. Should we just let it be? Or should we stop it -- and how!
The dog is currently eating IAMS but since we heart IAMS has corn in it, and corn's incredibly bad for dogs - we don't know what dog food to use -- got any good ideas?

My cat has been dead for almost 6 months now so it must have been his ghost. Do you think it is possible to see the ghost of a much loved pet that has died? This is not the first time this has happened but I just put the other occasions to the back of my mine.
