i was in my backyard and found a tiny black snake with a tiny orange red line around the neck . but the rest is black except for the bottom its also red orange .... any one know what type of snake it might be .... thanx ?

It is without a doubt a southern ringneck snake. Very common and harmless. They feed primarily on salamanders, but also eat worms, small snakes, frogs, and lizards. They grow to 14 inches long, not 6.

Common, harmless Ringneck Snake- and even full grown, it is a small snake.

Google ringneck snake to see a million pictures.

i agree, ringneck snakes, are common in the southeast and are very harmless, they are good to have around and eat slugs and earthworms, adults reach a length of about 6 inches and give birth to live young.

call the animal shelter or the vet or release it i think... umm...
internet says call a snake handler for any snake

It is FOR SURE a ring back there completely harmless
