its a 16 oz critter canteen and i'll come home and not even two inches of the water is gone. ive tried putting a bowl of water in his cage, but its still pretty full when i check later in the day. he doesnt eat much either... is it because hes so young? i think hes only a month old. i just got him.. he weighs about a couple of pounds.

their water appetite is usually based on their needs so i wouldn't worry too much. the more active they are the more they will drink.

I also have a guinea pig too and in the beginning up he wasnt eating something! so we gave him some water in a water bottle cap and he began to drink and then we offered him and genuinely guinea pig water bottle that he makes use of. and vegitables have a brilliant form of water in them and he's in all risk getting each and all the water he desires from those vegitables. guinea pigs are small animals and dont choose that lots water. if he retains no longer eating his water attempt taking hm to the vet.

My newest guinea pig is about 4 months old and he drinks a pretty good amount of water. I don't believe age has anything to do with it. I'd get him checked out by a vet, because one of our guinea pigs didn't drink a lot. Then we noticed he had begun to drool, it was because his teeth weren't properly alligned. So every four weeks or so he has to get a surgery for his teeth to be alligned again.

If unsure take him to the vet or ask at your local pet shop. He may be getting all his requirements from other food, the grass carrots etc have juices in them too.

That maybe enough water and food is he getting thin? If not then he will drink when he is thirsty.

A couple of pounds at one month old? I don't think so.

He'll drink when he's thirsty enough. : )
