Are you sure she doesn't purr? I used to think that about my cat but a couple of months ago I put my ear really close to her and I could faintly hear a purr. Maybe she just purrs really quietly...

Some cats are very quiet, and they do a barely heard purr. One of ours we have to feel the throat for vibrations because you can't tell with him.

I agree with gadfly. I used to have a cat that was very sweet and affectionate, but you could not hear her purr unless you put your ear on her chest area.

if your cat is happy I wouldnt worry about it. cats all purr at different volumes. I use to have a cat that purred so loud it would start squeaking .

Maybe she has a voice box problem.
