I have a 20 watt hood from a freashwater 29 gallon that i want to turn into a saltwater fish tank. is that 20 watt light good enough for fish and live rock only (fowlr) ? if not what is a good website to get a good light for a "cheaper" price without bad quality? I plan to put in about 15 lbs of rock. please don't tell me that that isn't enough! i already know.

When she breathes, it looks like her stomach under her ribcage sucks in and out. It doesn't seem to bother my 15 year old cat but it bother's me. I don't have money to run right to the vet. Will she be ok?

I found a strange orange bug on my cat. Its bigger than a flea, but it still seemed to want to burrow in her. It kinda had characteristics of a worm but its way too small to be a worm. It was a bug. I have never seen a bug like this before. I am in the pacific northwest if that helps identifying this bug.

Okay, I'm planning on getting two, male rats and I've been having issues deciding on a cage! Right now, I'm interested in the Super Pet Multi-Floor Ferret Home, ( http://www.petco.com/product/15487/Super-Pet-Multi-Floor-Ferret-Home.aspx ) and I was wondering if it's a decent sized cage for two rats, or if I should possibly go with the Deluxe version of the cage...? If there's any other cages you might suggest, feel free to let me know. :)

I am weirded out with the thought of having any kind of big dog (even a lab or retriever) with kids under 4 years of age. Is this understandible or am I off base?

I have a Russian Tortoise and three Bearded Dragons. I want the tortoise to have companions. I want to build an enclosure where they are not in the same pen but are still able to see each other while at the same time having enough of a visual barrier to where they won't try to go through or hurt themselves trying....any ideas?

Ok, so on monday, I had 3 hamsters, 2 are dwarfs that live together...or did live together

Well, one of the dwarf hamsters had a trajic fall on monday, and died, so, now her cagemate is very depressed and lonely, isn't acting like herself at all, I feel SO bad for her because she has never been alone, for more than 30 minutes for her entire life!

My parents won't let me get a new hamster because they are tired of all these animals I have, (ive got 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 cockatiel, 2 fishtanks, and now, 2 hamsters)

But, the hamsters live in my room, don't smell, don't cost them ANY money, don't make noise...and basically don't affect my parents at all

I just don't understand why my parents are acting like this, my poor hammy is all alone, and so sad

Is it because they are trying to show me that they are the parents, and that I don't always get what I want (im 15 years old, by the way)

I just don't feel like they are being fair, I wouldn't ask for another hamster, if I didn't

I work in a very dingy office attached to a warehouse. My boss brought in her puppy today. She made CERTAIN we all hugged and petted him. He laid on the floor for about an hour, and around my feet. We have a "short thread" carpet here. A couple mins later my boss was holding him and scratching him. I petted his head and noticed fleas crawling on his belly. I pointed them out and she said she knew he had them. Long story short I got very angry with her. I have two pets, one that has suffered from fleas before,the last thing I need is a flea infestation in my home! I upset her but she agreed to take the dog home. The dog was locked in her office for about another half hour. Here a total of about 2 hours. At lunch I went out and purchased some Backwoods Cutter bug repellent, specifically mentioned fleas. I sprayed the bottoms of my jeans, my shirt and around my desk. It is only 8 hour repellent. How at risk do you think I am for getting fleas? Is there anything else I can do?

My dog is biting all the fur off of her rear end. We have been do the vet once and were given a cortisone shot and antibiotics. It worked for a couple of weeks and now it is back worse than ever. I think she is allergic to grass...does anybody have any suggestions on treatment.

Well, my guinea pig, Popcorn, is really weird. She falls into a deep sleep right after she eats. Even if you poke her with your finger she will not wake up. But, I touch her rump gently and then she wakes up. It looks like she's dead and it worries me. She has only done this 2 times. Is this something I should worry about, or am I over reacting? Please Help! ASAP! :(

That opens a word Doc from the IL horsemens Council. Another question has got me thinking there are some seriously mislead people out there when it comes to horse slaughter and where this feel good ban is leading.
One Idea in IL is to just start releasing un wanted horses into shawnee natl forest or dumping them in rural areas, you know kind of like all the dumped dogs.

The people so opposed to sluaghter do a real good job of crying about it. But what exactly are they doing with the fall out from the ban? After all I would say the horses are in far worse shape now than they were pre ban, What the feel gooders can sleep better at night thinking they made a world changing difference? While ignoring the reallity of their irresponsible beliefs?
And yes they did re open Dekalb for 30 days

I have a Doberman and a Pitt my uncle gave me..
My family have raised dobermans for like ever, and I got my pit when my uncle had a baby and mived out of our house, well she stayed and she the sweetest thing ever. The only thing though is she hates other strange dogs, when I take her to the beach I have to keep a soft muzzel on her. shes a bad girl....
And my doberman my father got me as a gift from a shelter last year in sept. Hes a the best dog ever!!!

So if you have a "Considered" dangerous breed tell me how you to got together, and what you think. And if you dont have one, tell me what you think about it.
Personally i dont beleive that theres a bad dog, only bad owners and theres no such thing as a dangerous breed. All dog are the same. their dogs, thats like saying people who are black cant own a car, only whites can. Its not true!! its rediculous.
