My dog is biting all the fur off of her rear end. We have been do the vet once and were given a cortisone shot and antibiotics. It worked for a couple of weeks and now it is back worse than ever. I think she is allergic to grass...does anybody have any suggestions on treatment.

Did the vet say she was allergic to grass? A Lot of dogs alergic to there pet food. Mayb try chnaging the brand of food or going with a food made with Rice ir lamb That might help.

You simply must continue seeing your vet, or if you don't want to, find another one! No possible way anyone on here can help, the best anyone can do is make wild guesses as to what's going on. There are no vets on here, and no one has seen your dog, so don't take any treatment suggestions from anyone.

If your dog isn't better after treatment, tell the vet so - if they don't hear from you they will assume all is well!

If it's allergies, the cause of this can be incredibly difficult to pin down. Don't guess, and don't attempt your own treatment. Is she flea treated regularly by the way? And I mean with something from a vets like Frontline - petshop flea products do not work. I ask because flea allergic dermatitis is the most common cause for the problems you describe.

Beyond this, no one on here could suggest anything further - continue working with your vet!

Try giving her Benadryl. Depending on her size makes the dose different. To give you an idea, I have a 130lbs lab, and I give him one pill.
Also, I would call the vet again and see if there is anything that you can give your dog daily for allergies.
And make an appt. with the vet to try to make sure that is what is wrong with the dog. You wouldn't want to spend the $$ on allergy meds. just to find out that that was not the problem

Good Luck

Yes agree with the food thing. A lot of dogs are allergic to their food. Have you changed it? Take her back to the vet.

It's likely an allergic reaction. You can find a better solution here.
