not all dogs are interested sexually in other dogs. just as humans have their preferences, dogs do as well. i have heard stories of dog and horse breeders trying to get a pair to mate, and nothing happens. they just arent interested.
my best guess is that your male finds your female to not be sexually attractive. sorry (that doesnt meant she isnt a beautiful dog to us).
also, if your male dog is neutered, his sex drive is muuuuuch lower, so he might not be interested. if he isnt fixed, he might have a low sex drive as it is. i know lots of unneutered males who never mount. they just arent interested.

Humping isn't a sexual element different than the female is in heat. If she is then, like human women, she would be able to be menstruating and you will observe. Separate the female and adult males if she is in heat temperature, it is going to potential the adult adult males loopy in the event that they have get entry to to her. with the intention to cut back the humping habit i recommend you get your dogs neutered fairly because of the undeniable fact that that's over a year previous. Humping is a combat for dominance interior the dogs international. that's how they're saying "i'm bigger and smarter and greater effective, etc." to stop this behavior purely carefully watch the doggies and pull the single off the different if it starts off up. don't be afraid to stress them a procedures from each diverse yet do not punish them for doing besides the fact that common. additionally, it is hardship-unfastened for the different dogs to snarl, snap, growl, etc at your dogs. although, you do not decide for a complete attack because of the certainty A) it is risky for each canines and B) that's a criminal duty for the two abode owners and your doggies could additionally be quarantined or taken from you.

What is your dog doing in heat? Why isn't she spayed? There are enough unwanted, homeless dogs in shelters being euthanized everyday because there are to many dogs and not enough home. And here you are asking this stupid question. The answer is be a responsible owner and get your dogs fixed for crying out loud.

I had a male Rottweiler that was afraid of (actually, more in "awe" of) a female we tried to breed with him. It took a couple of days for him to show any interest in her even though she was in full heat because (I think) he didn't want to be rejected! He had seen her jump a fence he couldn't jump and she had snapped at him several times when he tried to sniff her. He was just a big wuss...but he finally figured it out!

I think your male might be ill. It's not uncommon for male dogs to "hump" other male dogs, cats etc.If he is ignoring a ***** in heat, he may have some hormone issues or be ill.

Your dog is the smart one...he knows there are way too many homeless animals now to breed for no reason and create more that could end up homeless or abused.......if he's not neutered make the appointment he's tryin to tell you something!!!!!

How old is your male? He might not have the sexual drive of a fully grown adult yet. Or perhaps your female is being dominate and doesn't want him to mate with her.
