Well, my guinea pig, Popcorn, is really weird. She falls into a deep sleep right after she eats. Even if you poke her with your finger she will not wake up. But, I touch her rump gently and then she wakes up. It looks like she's dead and it worries me. She has only done this 2 times. Is this something I should worry about, or am I over reacting? Please Help! ASAP! :(

It's normal. Guinea pigs spend very little time in this deep sleep; you may not see it often. Usually they go into a dozing state, almost sleeping but ready to respond quickly to any emergency.

Aww, it's great that she's so relaxed. I wouldn't poke her, but observe closely to see her breathing (this is what we do with our cats, who are also deep sleepers).
I have *never* seen our pig, or any other pig for that matter, asleep! They'll seem to be resting quietly, but they're always got their eyes open.

Eating is a strenuous activity for a guinea pig. I wouldn't worry about it, and please look into making our buying your guinea pig a little shelter for him/her to sleep in. They feel most secure in a little box or pigloo. Guinea pigs who sleep with their eyes closed generally feel very safe in their environment, so if yours is sleeping with it's eyes closed it's okay!

you don't need to be poking sleeping pigs! pigs like to sleep a lot. you should try to get her a little pig house to sleep in. she could also just be resting --

if someone was poking you in the butt it would probably unnerve you more than poking you in your side too -- please don't poke your pig.
