OK I have a 12 year old Schnauzer. I took him in for a check up on Friday. His back legs were bothering him. Had a prostate test, Pancreas test, liver and kidney test and red and white blood cell test. Everything is perfect. He has arthritis and he is 10 to 15 lbs. overweight. He has always gone in for check up and shots. This is the first mention of his "weight problem". He weighs 30.6lbs. He has to lose at least 9lbs. the vet said. He said his weight is making the arthritis worse. Which makes sense. Here is my question. I was told that dogs can have fresh vegetables for a snack, except lettuce and he can have fruits except peaches and grapes. Is this info correct?? Is there any other nutritious snacks you know of?

my mouse has a tiny sore on the back of his ear. I have been putting a very small amount of sudocrem on it, applying very gently with a cotton bud. The skin is healing and looking much better but I'm just wondering if this could do him any harm? I always just put a real small bit on so don't think there's any danger of him getting some on his paws then eating it...... I am taking him to the vets tomorrow anyway for a general check up, bless him, he's getting a bit old now, so I will ask them anyway but wondering if you can offer any advice???

I have one and he is the cutest and sweetest thing ever!!!!! I think that if anyone ever wanted a family kind of dog, they should get a Bichon!!! Look them up, they are adorable!!!

My cat and I lived with my parents; about 3 years ago, I moved out, but left him so it wouldn't be such a drastic change for him. About 3 months ago, I brought him home with me and he has been perfectly fine until about 2 weeks ago. No other animals have been in the house since he has been here.

My kitten is about 10 weeks and we adopted it at the age of 6 weeks. The first couple of days were hard with litter train, but then he got the hang of it! It was so nice! Then he would not use the litter box when it was too full (every three poops), understandable! So I have stated cleaning it every two! Well now he won't use it but everyonce and a while! The litter box is clean. At first I let it slide, I thought maybe he was sick seeing the poo was a little runny. But now he is finding a new corner for number one OR number two all the time! It is so embarassing, our house smells so terrible right now, I can't stand to have company over anymore! What is the message this cat is trying to tell me? I put his nose close to it, and then give a little spank, and then on the rare occasion I do catch him using the litter box I reward him with love and pet him (after he is done ofcourse)! This has been going on for a week now, what else can I do!

My boyfriend got me a new fish for my tropical tank today. I cant take him back now and i already have guppies and neons in my tank. The pictus doesnt seem interested at all at the moment. Will he definatly eat them eventually? I have another tank i can set up for the neons and guppies but hoping it wont have to come to that.

i have an upside down catfish ...me and my boyfriend have had it for a about 3 months, and everything seemed to be fine but yesterday we found the fish was completlely see through and the upside down catfish are very nicely spotted, so i took out 50% of the water and added some clean. he seemed to be getting his color back by the time i went to bed, i woke up this morning and he was dead:( his color had compeltely come back other than one spot on his side. he alomost looked like he had ich but why would the color show back up ? we have one other catfish it is a bumble bee catfish and he is doing well . if ich goes from fish to fish why is my other fish perfectly fine, and yes i have inspected.?

I'm going to move my tiger barbs from a ten gal. tank to a 20 gal. All I need is the filter, can I use the one I had for the 10 gal. tank?
Will it keep the water clear the same way it did in the 10 gal.?
Or do I need to buy a new filter?

wat would u do if: your cat or dog passed away would u:
1) bury it in the back yard
2) cremate the animal
3) cremate the animal n keep its remains haning from your window in your car or in your house
4) or freeze your pet like it was when it died n bury it
5) or freeze your pet n keep it in your house like by the fire place or keep it in the basement
wat would you do??
I would bury my pet in the back yard n not go out of the way just my opnion but tell me wat would you do??

ok i have put my male and female betta fish into a spawning tank. The male continualsy chases after the female betta almost as in trying to nip her. But i heard that was normal, so the female betta fish runs for her life. About 30 min after them chasing eachother then the female got vertical stripes on her as in she is either scared to ready to spawn but she doesnt look full of eggs. So the male goes under the half a styrafoam cup i gave him and he is trying to build a bubble nest but every bubble he makes is really tiny and they all pop 1 second after he makes it. is this normal? What should i do?
