He might not be interested at the moment, but he will be once he settles in and it's lights out for the night. The pictuc will eat any fish it can catch and will fit in it's mouth and that will usually include neons and adult guppies.

Pimelodus pictus is an lively little catfish which will consume something that matches in its mouth. it fairly is no longer a fin nipper, so it unlikely to attack your Betta till the Betta became sufficiently small to consume. It won't difficulty the Sqeakers the two. You did no longer point out what style of heating you have yet Pictus is gentle at heat room temperature (approximately seventy 3 ranges you moreover mght did no longer point out tank length which creates a guessing game. Your Sqeakers can stay in a sixteen gallon in the event that they're subadults, yet they do get 7-8 inches long finally and then will want a minimum of a 30 gallon tank. The Pictus merely gets 0.5 their length and could desire to stay interior the 15, yet as quickly as the Sqeakers mature you would be way overcrowded

When he is fully grown, you will definitely lose some Guppies and Neons. If the Pictus can fit it in its mouth, he will eat them.
And, Pictus Cats get about 8-10 inches long and require a 20+ gallon tank. They are very active and may hurt themselves in small tanks.

Yes. Russell, if your Pictus "just kinda hangs out in the back," he is unhappy or unhealthy. Pictus Cats are usually extremely active fish.

My pictus never came close to even trying to hurt another fish in the aquarium. He just kinda chills in the back.

Any wide mouth catfish (p.pictus is one) will eat anything they can fit in their mouths. Take him back or move the others- or you will not have them for long!
Sorry.

PS: Pictus can grow to over 4.5 inches!

That was one of my favourites when I started keeping catfish..two to three inches long with polka dots and long twitching whiskers. It should'nt eat the others but it might disturb them if it swims amongst them.
